Lucky 15 Tips: Condor can soar to victory at Wolverhampton

There are just three meetings to look forward to across Britain on Monday, including a Jumps offering from Wincanton and all-weather Flat fare from Lingfield and Wolverhampton.

I've picked out four horses to follow across the day, including a Richard Fahey runner at Wolverhampton, to form my Lucky 15 tips.

14:30 Wincanton - Bethpage @ 9/2

Emma Lavelle runs BETHPAGE in this race and it’s easy to make a case for this seven-year-old mare, who should absolutely thrive in these conditions off the back of a 135-day break.

The ground at Wincanton is officially described as good, good to firm in places and that should play right into her hands. Connections have clearly decided to keep her powder dry over the winter months and she should be winning races again sooner rather than later.

She won a couple of low grade handicaps at Ludlow and Southwell in May and June, with both victories coming on good ground. Clearly connections weren’t happy with her breathing, as the mare was given wind surgery over the winter.

Struggling behind Larchmont Lass here over an extended 2m5f last time out, that wasn’t her true running and she tries three miles for the first time here.

16:00 Wincanton - Getbazoutofhere @ 9/2

GETBAZOUTOFHERE has been relatively consistent over fences since last spring and she was a comfortable winner over this trip on good ground at Hereford in May. A 7lb rise proved not to be an issue when following up over the same course and distance in November.

Making all the running that day, she pulled comfortably clear of her rivals, despite jumping to her left at most of her fences. The handicapper has responded with a 6lb rise and she’s been competitive off this mark since.

Tom Gretton’s mare finished third at Cheltenham on her penultimate start and neither the trip nor the going would have been ideal.

She’ll need to bounce back after a below-par display at Fakenham, but there’s a strong chance that the daughter of Gentlewave can do so.

19:30 Wolverhampton - Ziggy's Condor @ 10/3

Richard Fahey runs ZIGGY’S CONDOR here and this four-year-old looked potentially very smart when bolting up on debut at Pontefract in July 2023. He was always travelling strongly and pulled three lengths clear of his rivals.

It took him a fair while to return to the winners’ enclosure, but he managed to do so in handicap company over course and distance last time out. He made all the running and held on well, despite being a bit on the keen side throughout.

The handicapper has pushed him up 3lb for that win but he should still be competitive off this mark, as he was beaten a short head off 1lb higher back in May.

20:30 Wolverhampton - High Point @ 12/1

Kevin Philippart De Foy’s HIGH POINT was entitled to need the run when seventh of eight at Chelmsford last time out, as that was his first start for 147 days and physical improvement is anticipated this time around.

He won twice as a two-year-old for previous connections, most notably in a competitive and valuable nursery over 1m2f at Newmarket back in October 2023.

The son of New Bay also won at Salisbury on his last start for Eve Johnson Houghton and should be competitive here.

It’s noted that the handicapper has dropped him 1lb for that latest effort and you can expect a much better performance this time around.

The odds are likely to fluctuate between time of publication and the off - but a 50p win Lucky 15 on today's selections at the quoted prices, assuming all four won, would return around £1,576 for a total £7.50 stake.
