Plumpton scaled

There is plenty of racing action taking place across the UK and Ireland on Monday with six meetings down for decision.

Jumps racing at Plumpton comes alongside afternoon turf action on the Flat from Bath, Pontefract and Gowran Park, while evening all-weather cards come from Southwell and Wolverhampton.

We've put together a Lucky15 selection that includes returning hurdler Davidoc for Ben Pauling at Warwick. Below you can find my Lucky 15 tips.

Lucky 15 Betting Tips - Monday, October 21

  • 15:07 Bath - Atherstone Beau @ 11/4
  • 16:25 Plumpton - Davidoc @ 6/4
  • 19:30 Wolverhampton - Style Of Life @ 5/2
  • 20:15 Southwell - Yippee @ 7/2

15:07 Bath - Atherstone Beau @ 11/4

The filly ATHERSTONE BEAU has shown enough in three qualifying runs to warrant the suggestion that a mark of 65 can be within her reach now that she moves into nurseries.

Roger Fell's charge was third at Catterick (5f, soft) on debut and will have no concerns with the prevailing ground here, while she has run well in both outings since at Beverley and here over C&D in maidens.

She rallied well after attempting to make all last time and David Probert might be able to take a tow into this race with Roysdelight a potential pace angle. In a race that lacks depth, this filly is taken to show the boys the way home.

15:07 Bath - Winner Atherstone Beau

16:25 Plumpton - Davidoc @ 6/4

Two miles is the test for this handicap hurdle at Plumpton with seven runners engaged and Ben Pauling's last-time-out Warwick second DAVIDOC looks a leading contender on paper under Ben Jones.

The six-year-old won an Irish point-to-point in May 2023, but failed to show much in three hurdles starts last season after joining this handler.

He underwent a wind operation in the spring and duly won his maiden over course and distance here in April, justifying favouritism for an easy eight-length success.

He made his handicap bow at Warwick (2m, good) the following month and was second behind King's Castle, form that looks solid in light of Jeremy Scott's charge winning his next three starts.

From just 1lb higher, Davidoc has an excellent chance of going one better on his return from a break.

16:25 Plumpton - Winner Davidoc

19:30 Wolverhampton - Style Of Life @ 5/2

Harriet Bethell hasn't taken long to get a tune from STYLE OF LIFE and the New Bay filly could make it two wins in three starts now.

She joined this yard from Jamie Osborne in the off-season and has not wasted any time in finding form. She was entitled to need her comeback at Pontefract in July after 265 days off, but was then second at Ripon and won at Thirsk in her next two turf starts.

She was only just denied a double up at Pontefract this month over a mile on soft ground and, from only 1lb higher, this dual all-weather winner has every chance of continuing her recent excellence now back on this synthetic surface over a C&D where she was a one-from-one strike-rate.

19:30 Wolverhampton - Winner Style Of Life

20:15 Southwell - Yippee @ 7/2

The nightcap at Southwell is a handicap over the staying trip of 1m6f and it may be a decent spot for Charlie Johnston's YIPPEE to register a first all-weather win.

The Zoustar gelding won a Pontefract maiden handicap over 1m2f in May and has run some good races in defeat since.

A pair of blinkers - retained here - were in play when he was a promising third, beaten a length over 1m4f here last time, a contest in which he took some time to pick up and was running on strongly at the line.

On that evidence, this longer trip is well worth a go.

20:15 Southwell - Winner Yippee

Odds correct at time of publishing.
