Lucky 15 Tips: Burgundy Man primed for Cartmel breakthrough

There are five meetings across the UK and Ireland on Monday, with jumps action from Cartmel joining the Flat meetings at Ayr, Ballinrobe, Beverley and Windsor.

Below are my Lucky 15 tips for Monday's racing in Britain and Ireland, with selections from across four of the cards.

14:12 Cartmel - Burgundy Man @ 11/2

The hat-trick seeking Larksfield Lusive isn't bypassed in any haste but he faces a few rivals that have knocked on the door recently, including Top Flight Century, Mr Rumbalicious and BURGUNDY MAN.

Preference is for the last-named after he showed improved form the last twice when finishing runner-up at Perth over this 3m trip on good ground.

He was a long way clear of the third last time and a touch unfortunate to bump into the experienced Dalileo, who has gone well again back at Perth since from 5lb higher.

Burgundy Man remains on a decent mark and is surely going to shed the maiden tag soon.

14:30 Ayr – South Road @ 11/4

A couple of last-time-out winners clash in this 6f Ayr handicap and it is the lightly-raced three-year-old SOUTH ROAD that is preferred to the much more experienced Sixcor.

The latter won at Hamilton over 5f recently, an eighth career success in 79 starts, but South Road was notching her first victory on just her sixth start as the Kodiac filly scored over track and trip in the hands of Kevin Stott a fortnight ago.

She is only 3lb higher now and Lucinda Russell's filly has plenty of scope for better.

18:40 Windsor - Mukhtalif @ 8/11

William Haggas and Jim Crowley team up in the familiar Shadwell silks with MUKHTALIF in this mile-and-a-quarter Windsor maiden and son of Sea The Stars should prove equal to the challenge.

He debuted at Nottingham (1m2f, good) in early June, going off second-favourite on the day and finished a close third behind Ride The Thunder, with just a length splitting the first three home.

The winner is rated 84 for Roger Varian and the fourth, Eternal Force, went close in a Hamilton maiden soon afterwards.

With normal first-to-second start improvement, this colt should deliver on the promise shown on his debut.

19:20 Beverley – Gloriously Sassy @ 3/1

Soft conditions will be against Mysteryofthesands for the Tim Easterby team in this 7½-furlong handicap and that may help pave the way for last-time-out course and distance scorer GLORIOUSLY SASSY to notch a second win on just his sixth start.

The Karl Burke-trained gelding scored here in June, doing well to go and peg back the tearaway frontrunner Forest Caper and ultimately getting on top with something in hand.

The fourth came out and won next time at Carlisle and, with just a 2lb nudge up in the ratings to contend with, this three-year-old can keep the ball rolling if handling the slower ground.

This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
