Lucky 15 Tips: Hombre De Guerra can strike again at Ayr

There are four UK race meetings on Monday to start the week, with action from Ayr and Warwick over jumps set to be joined by the all-weather meetings from Kempton in the afternoon and, later, Wolverhampton. 

We have picked out a Lucky15 selection from across the cards for consideration, including a filly that may benefit from stepping back up in trip on the evening card at Wolverhampton.

13:35 Warwick – Southoftheborder @ 7/2

Nicky Henderson and Nico de Boinville are fresh off a stellar weekend, highlighted by Jonbon's fine win in the Clarence House Chase at Ascot, and they can bag a Warwick winner via SOUTHOFTHEBORDER. 

The Leading Light gelding won his only point-to-point in late 2022 and showed plenty of promise in three hurdles starts last season for the Seven Barrows team. 

He was turned over at short odds when last spotted at Sandown 360 days ago but the 2m trip may have caught him out for pace and the race was a decent one. 

A step up in trip allied to tackling these larger obstacles should see him in a positive light.

14.20 Ayr - Hombre De Guerra @ 7/4

The Try Racing TV For Free Now Novices' Limited Handicap Chase at Ayr is set to be run over an extended two-mile trip and four runners are due to line up. 

Gordon Elliott's Western Fold will attempt to atone for a fall at the final fence on his chasing debut at Fairyhouse five weeks ago, while the Lucinda Russell-trained Primoz is another that came down last time. 

Neil Alexander's HOMBRE DE GUERRRA by contrast has mostly jumped with aplomb in two runs over these obstacles. 

He was second behind Caldwell Potter at Carlisle in December and began this year with an eased down win here over course and distance on soft ground. He's 10lb higher now but could prove better than a mark of 122 and receives upwards of 8lb from that pair of last-time-out casualties. 

16:15 Kempton – Brunel Charm @ 9/4

BRUNEL CHARM hasn't been with trainer Charlie Wallis too long and the gelding seemed to show the benefit of a wind operation when running a couple of good races over course and distance in November and December. 

He came from off the pace in both instances to finish well and was denied just a length-and-a-half in third last time. 

He's competing from the same mark here and while his strike-rate is poor, he is well-handicapped based on his peak form and could soon pick up a race in this grade.

18:00 Wolverhampton - Gogo Yubari @ 3/1

Trainer Dylan Cunha has watched GOGO YUBARI run three good races here as well as at Lingfield and Chelmsford since Christmas. 

She is versatile in terms of how she needs to be ridden and just appeared to find things happening too fast at Chelmsford over 5f on Thursday as she finished third. 

She is a two-time winner from six all-weather starts at this increased trip and is on a winning mark here, while Morgan Cole can take a handy 5lb off in the saddle.
