There are four race meetings across the UK and Ireland on Monday, with the start of the turf Flat season at the Curragh among them.

In Britain, jumps racing is from Southwell and Fontwell in the afternoon, before evening fare at Newcastle on the all-weather. Here are our Lucky15 picks for Monday's action.

Monday's Lucky 15 Tips

  • 16:18 Fontwell – Ideallko @ 2/1
  • 16:40 Curragh – Superior Force @ 5/1
  • 17:00 Southwell – Innisfree Lass @ 7/4
  • 18:30 Newcastle – Golden Rainbow @ 6/4

16:18 Fontwell – Ideallko @ 2/1

Evan Williams' IDEALLKO has leading prospects in this Fontwell Racecourse Centenary Year Handicap Chase over just shy of two-and-a-half-miles.

He is a dual winner over fences (2-6) and put behind him a Boxing Day fall at Sedgefield (still in contention at three out) as he finished second at Doncaster (2m3f, soft) behind Pilgrims King this month, the winner transferring his good hurdles form to open his account over fences.

Ideallko runs from the same mark of 80 now and Connor Ring is back in the saddle taking off 3lb.

The 11-year-old Mister Murchan may start favourite for this given his recent good efforts but he's gone three years without a win and Ideallko can ensure the wait goes on.

16:40 Curragh – Superior Force @ 5/1

One mile is the trip for this Curragh handicap that immediately follows the Irish Lincolnshire and trainer Adrian Murray can collect a prize with SUPERIOR FORCE.

The Ardad gelding has plenty of form on soft ground and won't mind the prevailing conditions on what is sure to be attritional going at Headquarters.

Formerly trained in Britain by George Boughey, he finished fourth in this same contest 12 months ago on his seasonal bow from a 3lb higher mark, but managed only one more turf start afterwards.

He's been sharpened on the all-weather over the winter, finishing second at Dundalk last month, and should have excellent prospects from this mark with his rider taking a handy 5lb off.

17:00 Southwell – Innisfree Lass @ 7/4

Recent course and distance winner INNISFREE LASS can follow up for trainer Stuart Edmunds in this Novices' Limited Handicap Hurdle over three miles.

The Yeats mare was pulled up on her comeback at Catterick in January but the application of a pair of first-time cheekpieces saw her improve and come clear by 16 lengths to win at this course last month.

The headgear is retained now and should continue to have a positive effect. She doesn't have major miles on the clock and, given the manner of her win last time, a 6lb rise looks lenient.

18:30 Newcastle – Golden Rainbow @ 6/4

It's low-grade stuff on the evening card at Newcastle and their Classified Stakes over 5f should present another excellent opening for GOLDEN RAINBOW for the Rebecca Menzies yard.

The Havana Gold gelding is a three-time all-weather winner, two of those successes coming at Newcastle.

He won a similar race to this last month and was clear with the winner when runner-up over C&D last week, only giving best very late on to a rival that was completing a C&D double of his own. A replication of that effort would likely suffice now.
