Lucky 15 Tips: Havana to have a great time in Windsor feature

There are six meetings taking place across Britain and Ireland on Monday and there’s a little something on offer for racing fans of all persuasions, with turf, all-weather and National Hunt fixtures on the schedule.
I've picked out four strong fancies across the day to form my Lucky 15 tips. These include a last-time-out winner that runs in Windsor’s feature race.
Lucky 15 Tips - Monday, May 12
- 16:40 Southwell - Matchless @ 4/1
- 18:33 Windsor - Havanagreattime @ 4/1
- 18:38 Killarney - Jesse Evans @ 5/1
- 19:03 Windsor - Tralee Girl @ 8/13

16:40 Southwell - Matchless @ 4/1
MATCHLESS is probably a better horse on the Flat than he is over hurdles or fences but does have five hurdles wins to his name. Jennie Candlish’s gelding won a seller at Hexham last time out and should be competitive off this mark now returning to handicaps.
He hit a bad flat spot before staying on strongly to win that day and the return to a longer trip should help on that front. His best hurdles run came over an extended 2m3f at Doncaster in December 2023 and he was second by a nose off a mark of 123.
It’s a slight concern that his two hurdles wins since November have both come in sellers but he has since dropped significantly in the weights and now could be a good time to catch him.
18:33 Windsor - Havanagreattime @ 4/1
Richard Hughes runs the four-year-old HAVANAGREATTIME and he remains very lightly raced on turf, with just six starts to his name thus far. He runs his race more often than not and managed to win with a game performance at Newbury last time out.
Finley Marsh made almost all the running on Havanagreattime that day and similar tactics could pay dividends once again. It’s certainly noted that a 3lb rise looks pretty reasonable and it shouldn’t prove to be too substantial an obstacle.
One would imagine there’s scope for further progress on turf as a four-year-old and he won his maiden impressively over course and distance as a juvenile.
18:38 Killarney - Jesse Evans @ 5/1
Noel Meade’s useful dual purpose performer JESSE EVANS doesn’t have a great deal to find at the weights and his third behind Majborough in a Grade 1 novice at the Punchestown Festival looks like a solid piece of form.
He stays well on the Flat so the extended 2m4f trip and the good ground could prove to be an effective combination. He beat the useful yardstick Shecouldbeanything when winning a beginners chase over 2m2f at Galway in September, which is his only win over fences.
It’s worth noting that he needs to improve upon his third over a similar trip at Cork in November but you certainly wouldn’t want to rule him out here.
19:03 Windsor - Tralee Girl @ 8/13
Handicap debutante TRALEE GIRL could be the one to side with as she’s obviously very unexposed. Michael Bell’s filly has had just three starts to date and won a maiden comfortably at Catterick on seasonal debut.
Her first couple of starts were decent enough, as she finished second and third in a couple of races at Wolverhampton over an extended mile as a two-year-old. She looked outpaced at key stages both times, which suggess she was always going to flourish over further.
An opening mark of 66 looks very workable and as this is her first start in handicaps and second over 1m4f, there could be any amount of improvement to come.
The odds may fluctuate between time of publication and the respective races - but a 50p win Lucky 15 on today's selections at the quoted prices, assuming all four won, would return around £329 for a total £7.50 stake.
