Friday’s Lucky 15 Tips: More to come from Chester scorer

We wait no longer. It's Classic-time, and on Friday, May 31, we have the Betfred Oaks. All eyes will be trained upon Epsom, and a two-day Festival that will encompass at its heart the Betfred Derby on Saturday.
Superb supporting contests abound. Exquisite bloodlines. Some of the best trainers and jockeys in the world - and of course the real stars out there galloping on that hallowed turf. Friday's Lucky 15 tips come from Epsom, unsurprisingly, and do we have I wonder an Oh So Sharp, or an Enable, among the fillies today? Fingers crossed.
Lucky 15 tips Friday
Epsom
14:00 - New Charter @ 2/1
A very warm welcome to the Betfred Derby Festival - and a feast of high-class racing that begins with this 6f Conditions Stakes race for speedy two-year-olds.
New Charter, by French Derby winner New Bay out of a Frankel mare, represents trainer Richard Hannon. She's owned by Robert Barnett, who on this corresponding raceday in 1982 won the Oaks with the mighty Time Charter.
How fitting it would be for these silks to be in the winner's enclosure once again on Oaks day.
She's run just once, 13 days ago at HQ, in a warm novice. The winner was an unbeaten Godolphin filly, and our selection was running-on at the business end. This is a very stiff finish and that resolution will be key. On breeding this trip is surely an absolute bare minimum and she'll be stepped up soon enough no doubt.
Here's hoping she has the pace to lie up and then power home in the final fractions to remind Mr Barnett of that glorious afternoon the small matter of 42 summers ago.
15:45 - City Streak @ 9/2
I was all over this Andrew Balding-trained five-year-old Cityscape gelding at Chester a few weeks ago, and thanks to a majestic ride from Oisin Murphy he led in the final stride.
City Streak won a shade cosily for me - even though the margin was mere inches. There was plenty of congestion as per at Chester in the final furlong and for me he's value for more than that official 'nose' verdict.
He has a 3lb hike to overcome in a similar contest but has gone well on ground with give in it before. He's in the form of his life, and with Murphy once more doing the steering I'm very hopeful that further success awaits.
17:10 - Zoum Zoum @ 5/2
A 7f Listed heat now, for three-year-olds.
It's pretty tight on official ratings, and as a previous Listed race winner Zoum Zoum carries a 3lb penalty. In-form Ralph Beckett trains (18% strike-rate over the last fortnight), and Rossa Ryan (15%) rides.
The selection has run on four occasions and tasted defeat only once, on seasonal reappearance in Newbury's Group 3 Greenham Stakes 41 days ago. The form isn't really working out but one cannot deny it was an encouraging effort (beaten just over a length).
He's entitled to come on for the race and won't mind any juice in the ground, having won on heavy. This looks competitive, and should be very informative going forward. One to savour, on a day where you can say that over and over and not sound daft.
17:40 - Mission To Moon @ 4/1
A good 7f handicap rounds off the first day, and I'm plumping for one of only two three-year-olds in the line-up.
Mission To Moon is a colt in the care of Newmarket handler Roger Varian, and will be ridden by that man again, Oisin Murphy, who is in my opinion right back this campaign to his very best.
So, so many examples of that - the aforementioned City Streak at Chester, and just a couple of weeks ago he steered He's Got Game to victory at Windsor despite being down the horse's neck after a stumble leaving the boxes.
'Mission' won nicely off 88 at Goodwood last time and has a 4lb rise to contend with here. This is career-best territory now performance-wise, and further improvement for me looks extremely likely.
King Power racing own, and the horse has had a look at these unique contours before, finishing second in a July maiden last summer.
If you're playing, take care, enjoy, and the best of luck!
This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
The odds can fluctuate between publishing our pieces and race-time. As a guide, a £0.50p win Lucky 15 on today's selections, at the prices, and assuming all four won, would return around £350 for your total £7.50 stake.
