14:25 - Rosa Applause @ 9/2

7f Class 2 handicap, for older fillies and mares (4yo+).

Eight-year-old Aramis Grey gives this handicap a slightly lopsided look with topweight of 9st 12lb, while bringing up the rear we have Callianassa with 8st 3lb. I've gone for a Harry Charlton-trained filly reappearing after an absence of some 176 days - Rosa Applause.

Lots to like about this consistent daughter of Blue Point who stepped up to 7f for the first time at Newbury in September when last seen, and continues the experiment today around a couple of bends. She's bred for speed but if you're going to get the 7f anywhere it's surely here.

She's up in class but I'm hoping she's been showing Harry lots of good signs at home and she's won on this track previously, very easily (albeit in a novice stakes race).

15:35 - Rohaan @ 7/2

What a contrast - a battle-hardened seven-year-old warrior with a Royal Ascot Wokingham win on his CV, and 10 successes from 52 starts overall.

A tremendous credit then to connections, and trainer Dave Evans reaches out to the great Hayley Turner for potentially a hold-up masterclass. Hopefully the Queen of Southwell can time it to perfection and arrive at the jam-stick in time, but they'll have to overcome an interesting draw in the one box.

Rohaan warmed up for this with a good second at Southwell a week ago off today's mark of 87, and just think - he was officially rated 116 when contesting the G1 July Cup of 2021, beaten just under 5l. Fantastic race, can't wait.

16:10 - Moon Over Miami @ 9/4

2m staying handicappers now; another fascinating clash with several feasible outcomes.

I've selected Moon Over Miami, a lightly-raced four-year-old Sea The Moon gelding in the hands of Ralph Beckett in Hampshire. Regular pilot Hector Crouch has the riding assignment.

Moon Over Miami ran at Kempton in a similar affair 23 days ago and was a close-up, staying-on fourth in only career-start number four. First time at the trip too, and it seemed to suit a treat.

His mark from last time of 91 remains the same and staying might just be his game. Another gripping puzzle to consider, with a Willie Mullins raider (Mr Escobar), and upwardly-mobile Roaring Legend (won his last two comfortably) adding greatly to the intrigue.

17:20 - Fantastic Fox @ 4/1

Class 2 milers now, experienced handicappers, with 44 wins between them.

My selection Fantastic Fox is a gelded seven-year-old son of the mighty Frankel, and last ran on January 17 after a 58-day break at Newcastle. Similar race, finishing a staying-on second (beaten a length), and the unkindly assessor has raised him 2lb for his trouble.

Still, we know he's in good order, and he's a course-and-distance scorer here too. Super-consistent, game, dangerous to dismiss - and a cracking racing weight of 8st 13lb, given Witch Hunter's presence (rated 109, and carrying 9st 12lb).

This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
