Lucky 15 Tips: Rockola Vogue ready for Musselburgh test

There are five UK and Irish meetings taking place on Friday with jumps action dominating.

Newbury, Ffos Las and Musselburgh provide the National Hunt fare, ahead of evening racing on the all-weather circuits at Dundalk and Southwell on a busy day with 36 scheduled races.

Below is a Lucky15 selection for Friday's racing that includes an improving mare in Rockola Vogue as she heads for the Go North Raceday at Musselburgh.

14:30 Newbury - Art Of Diplomacy @ 9/2

Sean and Peter Bowen can strike on the card at Newbury with ART OF DIPLOMACY in the Focus Novices' Limited Handicap Chase over just shy of three miles.

The nine-year-old has run well in all four starts over fences thus far, including when stepped up to this trip at Wetherby last month, finishing second to an unexposed sort in De Legislator.

Art Of Diplomacy stays well, as evidenced from his hurdles form, and should be coming into his own at this trip, while a pair of first-time cheekpieces can aid him now.

This is an Extra Place Race, meaning that Betfred will pay 3 Places (1/5 Odds) rather than 2.

15:40 Ffos Las - Lilting Verse @ 5/1

A field of eight will go to post for the 'West Wales National' Handicap Chase at Ffos Las over almost three miles and five of them arrive having failed to complete on their most recent starts.

Not so LILTING VERSE for Fergal and Fern O'Brien, the Yeats mare having finished second behind an improving sort in Awaythelad at Southwell (3m½f, good) at the start of this month.

Lilting Verse is enjoying a decent first season over fences, having already secured a win at Huntingdon over this sort of trip in November.

She's only rated 1lb higher than for that recent silver medal and makes solid appeal here against an out of sorts bunch of rivals.

15:50 Musselburgh - Rockola Vogue @ 6/4

ROCKOLA VOGUE can go well for David Killahena & Graeme McPherson in the Racing Post Go North Lady Buttons Mares' Hurdle Series Final at Musselburgh.

The six-year-old ran a big race at Wetherby last time over a similar trip, trying in vain to run down front-running winner Our Bill's Aunt, but ultimately unable to do so as the winner was getting 18lb.

Rockola Vogue ran down the final two flights shifting to her left and perhaps conceded vital ground in doing so, but she rallied to the cause once the jumping was done.

That was just her fourth start over hurdles and she's got figures of 3122 now at trips ranging from 2m-2m4f.

She's up 5lb after that handicap-debut second but a good chance of improving enough to defy that with Kielan Woods returning in the plate now.

19:15 Dundalk - Miss Abby Jools @ 6/1

Finally to Ireland where MISS ABBY JOOLS is fancied to deliver at Dundalk after some pleasing runs in recent months.

The Kodi Bear mare was denied a neck over course and distance in November behind Darkdeserthighway on her first start for these connections. She went off favourite a week later on the strength of that, but could only finish sixth, beaten just over three lengths.

That race has worked out well and it was another good effort last month when one-length third in an apprentice handicap after a couple of months off.

She's a dual winner over course and distance already and looks set to add to that tally before long.
