Lucky 15 Tips: Blue Room – you heard me saying a prayer for

14:00 - Ambion View @ 9/4

West country royalty here in the shape of trainer Joe Tizzard, formerly a very competent jockey, and son of the great Colin.

Ambion View is a six-year-old French-bred with one win from six starts under rules. That success was here in a maiden hurdle in October, and in two subsequent runs has fallen at threes-on and finished a good second at Wincanton three weeks ago.

On the figures he's got every chance and the yard is absolutely flying - 30% strike-rate in the last 14 days.

14:30 - Largy Poet @ 11/4

More top-drawer connections, as Nicholls/Cobden combine on this six-year-old gelding.

Largy Poet competes today for an £8k winner's purse, whereas his last two spins have been for £21k and £10k respectively. However - and it's a big one - today he makes his chasing debut after a couple of hurdle wins, and success in both a bumper and a point; looking therefore to complete the set.

Being a Ditcheat-housed youngster he's sure to have been well schooled, and though notably opposed by the Venetia Williams-trained chase winner Alcedo, the selection is comfortably the highest-rated hurdler in the field and can score at the first time of asking over the larger obstacles.

16:00 - Ascending Lark @ 6/5

Harry Derham trains in Berkshire, and Paul O'Brien has the riding assignment.

Ascending Lark is a talented, improving seven-year-old mare, unbeaten after three spins over hurdles. She's up 4lb for her last success, but it will be no surprise whatsoever if she's up to the task.

Only four start but it looks a warm one, with two of her rivals having tasted success also, and with Messrs Deutsch and Bowen S booked to do the steering. Crackerjack of a race.

17:05 - The Blue Room @ 11/4

Plenty of runners in this closing bumper, and many mighty fine yards are represented.

I'm siding with The Blue Room, a five-year-old gelding trained by Olly Murphy, with Sean Bowen on top. A good second in his point last April, then on rules debut in one of these at Aintree on Boxing Day finished a good second to an unbeaten Skelton conveyance.

He was keeping on pleasingly and presumably the trainer has selected this race from a host of possibilities, as he really does look like a potential scorer waiting to happen.

With normal improvement he should be bang there.
