Lucky 15 Tips: Four to follow on Friday

Seven meetings take place across the UK and Ireland, headlined by day three of York's Dante meeting. The action on the Knavesmire is joined by further Flat meetings at Newbury, Newmarket and Hamilton, while they race over jumps at Aintree and there is also action from Leopardstown and Kilbeggan in Ireland.

I've put together some Lucky 15 tips, comprised of selections from four different destinations.

13:55 Newbury - Racing Demon @ 12/1

This can go the way of RACING DEMON, who returns to turf after a down-the-field run on the all-weather last time out.

Ed de Giles’ runner is back off his last winning mark of 65, which came over a mile on good ground at Bath and Friday’s conditions look ideal.

Racing Demon has five wins and 10 placed efforts from 27 flat turf starts and that’s a pretty good strike rate at this level.

14:42 York - Brioni @ 7/1

BRIONI was rated as a progressive handicapper when winning at Ascot in September and while the last two runs have been a little disappointing, there are reasons to think Alan King’s charge can bounce back at York.

The four-year-old stepped up to a mile-and-a-half at Newmarket following the Ascot success and it was pretty clear that the gelding didn’t get home on that occasion.

Brioni was dropped back to a mile on his comeback run again at Newmarket last month, but that effort came off an 188-day break and the four-year-old looked in need of the return.

Today’s trip and ground looks perfect for King’s charge to resume progress and there could well be more to come on just his ninth turf start.

15:25 Newmarket - Hot Like Me @ 11/4

A chance can be taken on Hot Like Me showing improved form at Newmarket.

Richard Spencer’s charge showed up better than the finishing position suggests when fading close to home at Wolverhampton last time out, after receiving a bump, and a mark of 67 looks workable.

The visor goes on for the first time and the unexposed three-year-old could be tough to catch at Newmarket.

18:20 Aintree - Arclight @ 6/1

Arclight is taken to bounce back to form at Aintree.

Nicky Henderson’s charge looked a progressive performer when racking up a hat-trick of victories in novices’ chases at Kempton, Exeter and Wincanton in 2023.

The success has stalled since, but there have been absences along the way, which suggested that the six-year-old may have had issues.

However, Arclight is still lightly-raced and she caught the eye when staying on from a midfield position at Cheltenham last time out.

Arclight is a fantastic jumper and she may be able to boss this small field if returned to more prominent tactics.
