Lucky 15 Tips: Time for Justice to prevail at Sandown?

Friday already, dear reader. One day nearer to the delights of weekend, and then the Royal meeting, which starts on Tuesday. It's all going on, as per. The sumptuous sporting buffet, of which racing is a fabulous element. We're very fortunate.

Let's go to Sandown Park for our Lucky 15 tips - an eight-race jamboree that kicks in at 13:00 and sees the likes of Murphy, Buick, SDS and Ryan in opposition. Looks competitive, and it's sure to be hugely enjoyable. Good luck if you're playing.

14:05 - Saba Desert @ 11/10

The old firm of Will Buick and Charlie Appleby combine with an unraced two-year-old Dubawi colt, out of a Sea The Stars mare. Bred in the purple and then some.

Saba Desert is a February foal who is very likely to know plenty about the game, hailing as she does from Godolphin's Moulton Paddocks facility in Newmarket. Only three have run before in this field but there's no standout among them, arguably - though of course lots of improvement could well be forthcoming.

These connections could well have struck already in the opener (13:00), and it will be no surprise if they snaffle this contest, too.

14:40 - Chaturanga @ 3/1

Hollie Doyle now for trainer Archie Watson - another powerful duo well-used to inhabiting the winner's circle.

They field a four-year-old Invincible Army gelding, Chaturanga, who has a very respectable four-from-12 career wins record, and who went very close in this grade/trip 43 days ago At Redcar.

3lbs higher currently than her last winning mark, last time was career-best Racing Post rating territory and she has a terrific chance tonight in my book. Hollie knows the horse well and could well try to poach this one from the front.

15:15 - Miss Justice @ 5/2

Team Gosden now, and a four-year-old daughter of US Triple Crown winner Justify.

Miss Justice awaits her first victory but has had just the three starts to date. Decent levels of form, a couple of seconds, and looks nicely weighted in the context of this compared to her market rivals, with 9st 1lb.

Gets to stretch out over 10f for the first time now, the trip at which her illustrious sire won the Kentucky Derby. After three claimer-ridden spins Will Buick no less has been booked to do the pushing. I'm taking the hint.

15:50 - Too Don Juan @ 6/1

Antelope, who's done me a couple of fabulous turns in recent weeks, is chasing a hat-trick for Richard Hannon but a 6lb hike might just be a bridge too far.

I respect his chances hugely, but am siding with a Ralph Beckett charge - the three-year-old Too Darn Hot gelding Too Don Juan. Dropped a pound after his handicap bow at Chester last time, he ran wide (not what's required around the tight Roodee turns) and I'm marking the performance up a little because of it.

Looks eminently capable of taking a handicap like this and will do so I believe sooner rather than later. Cracking, trappy race with which to complete our Lucky 15, and the excellent Hector Crouch rides.

This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
