Stratford wasn't kind to us yesterday but our nap obliged and we go again with renewed vigour on Friday, November 1.

Let's see what Newmarket has to offer apart from the excellent Listed affair I've already covered in the nap of the day piece. Action starts at 12:35, and there are seven races.

Lucky 15 Tips, Friday

Newmarket

  • 13:08 - Seantrabh @ 13/2
  • 14:17 - Montezuma @ 7/4
  • 15:27 - Swatch @ 11/2
  • 16:02 - Loving Look @ 11/4

Today's Horse Races

13:08 - Seantrabh @ 13/2

Tricky to pronounce I'll wager - let's hope he's the name on the commentator's lips in the shadows of the post.

Seantrabh represents trainer Declan Carroll, has a smart claimer on board, and before finding the ground too taxing at Haydock last time ran a blinder at Redcar, beaten less than a length off today's mark of 75.

This could be a good start, value-wise, fingers crossed. A little e/w single might reward support too.

14:17 - Montezuma @ 7/4

Nothing to be vengeful about hopefully for Charlie Appleby's charge - just the one sighter at Kempton 16 days ago so far over 7f, and this six should be far more up his street, being a son of Gimcrack (6f) winner Blue Point at this corresponding age.

Montezuma is evidently a late bloomer and his master trainer will no doubt have an eye on this from Breeders' Cup central in Del Mar. Dougie Costello is the lucky jock getting the leg up.

15:27 - Swatch @ 11/2

Quite well-travelled five-year-old Time Test gelding in the hands of Gary and Josh Moore.

A modest performer who ran perfectly acceptably for new connections last time, under the evergreen Tom Queally, forever associated with the great Frankel (and how supremely well did he ride that magnificent horse)?

Swatch might just have been freshened up for the change of scenery and is another at a nice e/w price if you fancy supporting him outside of the L15 to a small tickle.

16:02 - Loving Look @ 11/4

Only four runners for the historic Newmarket Whip but a tricky-looking, wide-open heat.

Loving Look is in excellent, progressive form since mid-summer, seems to go on all surfaces, and might just have a bit up her sleeve this afternoon.

Hughie Morrison trains, and Rob Hornby is doing the steering. Tricky to be definitive about the 10f trip as she's gone further, but this three-year-old daughter of Expert Eye ticks plenty of boxes.

If you're playing take care, have fun as always, and good luck.

This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!

The odds can fluctuate between publishing our pieces and race-time. As a guide, a £0.50p win Lucky 15 on today's selections, at the prices, and assuming all four won, would return around £560 for your total £7.50 stake.
