Friday Lucky 15 Tips: Rowan can get us off to a flyer

A good winner in Ireland yesterday, firmly flagged up, but nothing to link to it. Our Musselburgh hurdler was coming to contest the finish when losing his footing approaching the last, so we hope for better luck today.
Newbury has survived its early inspection, and we can also enjoy Doncaster, where my gaze has been concentrated; then Musselburgh once more, plus all-weather flat action from Dundalk. Let's get the thinking cap on and find a quartet we hope can be competitive later this afternoon.
Prices can of course fluctuate between publishing our pieces and race-time. As a guide, a £0.50p win Lucky 15 on today's selections, at the prices, and assuming all four were successful, would return around £247 for your total £7.50 stake.

Lucky 15 tips, Friday
12.50 Doncaster - Carrigmoorna Rowan @ 5/2
A lightly-raced 6-yr-old gelding, a maiden, though he did win a point back in April.
In good hands (Harry Fry), Carrigmoorna Rowan ran very well at just short of this trip at Worcester in late September. The winner has subsequently run well at Cheltenham and dotted up at Warwick, so the form has a substantial look to it.
He's got an experience edge, even given his limited outings, on several of his rivals and he appeals as a very likely scorer.
13.25 Doncaster - Fix At All @ 10/3
A Class 3 handicap chase. Our selection was in the care of Michael Scudamore until transferring to Neil Mulholland in June. Originally he was French-trained, until Dec '21. He had a wind op over a year ago, and hinted last time out at a return to the kind of excellent form he was showing in the spring.
Regular pilot Richie McLernon takes the mount.
14.00 Doncaster - Virginia Lodge @ 2/1
3-yr-old baby hurdlers - and a selection trained by the superb Dan Skelton.
Virginia Lodge has had two outings so far - a sighter at Ludlow, and an easy win at Fakenham. She's penalised accordingly, but the manner of the win was emphatic.
No idea how much was left in the tank that day, but being housed with the Skeltons doesn't appear to hinder many - quite the reverse. She could be promising, and we'll find out so much more today. Winning jock Fergus Gillard is again in the plate.
15.10 Doncaster - Burrows Hall @ 4/1
The closer at Donny is a little Class 5 handicap hurdle. We're paying a stonking FIVE places each-way, so if you're having an isolated bet on this one you might consider that option.
Burrows Hall was beaten a neck here over slightly further last time out a fortnight ago, and is 2lb worse off for his efforts courtesy of the kindly handicapper. However, that was following on from a third-placed finish at Carlisle previously, and it's not hard to surmise that his turn could be close at hand.
Trained by Sue Smith in Yorkshire (Mrs Harvey Smith), regular claiming pilot Tom Midgley is on board, and it really could be the day if recent efforts are anything to consider. In racing, it's fair to say, that's exactly how it invariably works.
