There’s a little something for everyone across the six scheduled meetings in Britain and Ireland on Wednesday, with three National Hunt and three Flat fixtures to look forward to.

An all-weather meeting from Lingfield forms part of the action and there are seven races on the card. The racing kicks off at 16:50 and the last race takes place at 19:50, with the going officially described as ‘standard’ on the polytrack surface. Below, you can find our Lingfield Park tips and they include a lightly raced four-year-old in the opening contest on the card.

16:50 - Cathedral Peak @ 9/1

Recent Chelmsford scorer Dubai Immo is likely to prove popular with punters but Dylan Cunha's unexposed filly CATHEDRAL PEAK could be the one to take him on with. She has had just five starts and there should be more to come from her in handicaps.

Previously trained by Joseph O’Brien in Ireland, she wasn’t disgraced when finishing sixth on her debut in a maiden at the Curragh over 1m2f. She got off to a slow start and was a little detached early on and her finishing effort suffered as a result.

Her next couple of starts were a little underwhelming but the daughter of Camelot showed some improvement when fifth on her handicap debut at Gowran. Plenty went wrong in the race and she ran fairly well under the circumstances.

Having clearly needed the run on her first outing for this stable at Doncaster, she is likely to improve significantly and a 3lb drop in the weights won’t go amiss either. We haven’t seen the best of her yet and the return to 1m2f might also suit.

This is an Extra Place Race, meaning that Betfred will be paying 4 Places (1/5 Odds) instead of 3. T&Cs Apply.

17:20 – Annsar @ 13/8

Jack Jones is operating at a healthy strike-rate of 25% in the last fortnight and he runs ANNSAR in this competitive-looking novice.

Jones’ three-year-old ran a nice race when third in a Class 2 novice at Kempton on her debut and she kept on nicely, despite showing signs of greenness. The winner was deemed good enough to run in the Nell Gwyn last week, providing some substance to the form.

She took a step forward when getting off the mark over 6f at this course earlier this month and the daughter of Time Test needed every yard of it, which suggests the return to 7f is a positive. Clearly further improvement will be needed under a penalty but she’s entitled to progress again.

17:50 – Innisfree Pearl @ 15/2

INNISFREE PEARL showed very little in her first three starts, being beaten by a combined total of 71 lengths in novice company, but she produced a significantly better performance when finishing third on her handicap debut at Windsor in August.

An opening mark of 50 proved to be about right as she stayed on well, despite not having the pace to challenge the front two. The handicapper dropped her 1lb for that effort, which proved to be significant, as she went on to win at Brighton next time.

The daughter of Yeats showed a good attitude to come out on top late on, despite being keen enough in the early stages. It’s hard to argue with a 2lb rise and she remains lightly raced enough that further progress can’t be ruled out.
