Lingfield Park Tips: Belcamo to learn from Kempton spin

After the recent spate of fixture abandonments, three meetings are scheduled for Tuesday with Lingfield Park being one of them.

Eight races are set to take place on the Polytrack, where the going is expected to be standard.

The opening contest should get underway at 12:00, a race covered by Betfred’s "Extra Place" promotion, while the finale is pencilled in for 15:35, which is another contest where an extra place should be up for grabs.

12:30 Lingfield - Big Zou @ 7/4

Connections of BIG ZOU will have been pleased with his start at Chelmsford last month, as he finished fourth of eight runners in a maiden contest over one mile.

The two-year-old runs out Tom Clover’s stable, and he showed enough promise on his debut to be put on the shortlist for Tuesday's race.

Clover's gelding appears to be one of the better runners in the maiden stakes race at 12:30, and we fancy him to get off the mark at the second time of asking.

13:00 Lingfield - Belcamo @ 11/10

The second selection comes in the shape of BELCAMO, who will be going to post in the Restricted Maiden Stakes at 13:00.

Andrew Balding's runner made his debut in November and he was able to finish third under Oisin Murphy at Kempton.

Belcamo was well fancied to win on his debut, but he made a poor start before finishing well to end up in the places.

Murphy has been booked to ride on Tuesday, and that should be a huge bonus. If the pair can get a strong start, they should be tough to stop.

14:35 Lingfield - Star Of St Louis @ 6/1

STAR OF ST LOUIS is the most experienced of our tips on Tuesday, and he has been so consistent of late for trainer Matt Crawley.

The six-year-old only joined Crawley's stable in October, and he finished fifth after a 128-day break. That run was clearly planned to shake off any rust and he has since won at Wolverhampton twice, before finishing second at the Midlands track.

Star Of St Louis finished second by just a length over the extended 1m1f at Wolverhampton, and he will run off the same mark on Tuesday. That is enough for us to think he will run another big race.
