After going off as a 4-1 joint-favourite for the Scottish Grand National last year, Kitty’s Light is looking to back that up with victory at Aintree. That win was part of three-straight impressive victories in really good company which saw his Racing Post Rating fly up to 153.

A 183-day break followed those performances and it has been a very quiet start to the season. A seventh-place finish in the Ultima at the Cheltenham Festival was not as bad as the finishing position may suggest with the ground being extremely soft, although with all the rain still deluging the country it would take a real change in the weather to see the ground firm with such a high water table.

Trainer Christian Williams believes that he’s a good stayer and is banking on his strong spring of last year as a sign that being competitive around the Grand National course at Aintree is a realistic possibility for this eight-year-old.

We've seen that there is plenty of support for this one in the market as many expect that he's been trained to peak right now, and those outstanding runs from last spring are still firmly in the memory of avid Horse Racing watchers.
