Kempton Park All-Weather

The polytrack at Kempton calls on Wednesday night, with seven races scheduled between 18:00 and 21:00.

I have three Kempton Park tips for you to consider, with the most attractive action placed towards the end of the card.

Kempton Park Tips

  • 19:30 - Chola Empire @ 6/1
  • 20:30 - Dark Dreamer @ 5/2
  • 21:00 - Golden Dove @ 12/1

19:30 - Chola Empire @ 6/1

After some decent opening fare, the first selection comes from the fourth race of the night, with CHOLA EMPIRE favoured in the 19:30 - a 7f handicap for four-year-olds and up that Betfred go four places on.

A modest sixth at Lingfield on New Year’s Eve did little to inspire but there has been progress since then, finishing runner-up twice at Chelmsford before making all to win at Southwell on March 26.

The handicapper has hit the five-year-old with a 4lb rise but that does not seem too harsh to sway him from success in Surrey.

Jockey Luke Morris has a decent 15% win-rate over the last fortnight and these two look too good for the likes of Giant, Rich and Mystery Monarch.

20:30 - Dark Dreamer @ 5/2

A track and trip winner here on his penultimate start, DARK DREAMER should go well again in this three-year-old handicap over six furlongs.

Betfred are offering a free bet if your selection finishes second and the market leader should at least be placing following an encouraging start to the season.

After that C&D win on return, he took to the turf at Windsor a couple of Mondays ago and was unlucky not to record a repeat victory, leading with 2f to go, only to be held up and eventually beaten by a neck by Tony Carroll’s Hearitfortheboys.

Tom Marquand was on board for that attempt but Jack Mitchell is restored here and Robert Cowell will be hoping the jockey can repeat the ride that saw this gelding break his maiden.

A challenge should come from Horse Whisperer, a last-time-out winner at Wolverhampton, while there is potential value with Rusheen Boy after form figures of 112 from his last three races, albeit the most recent was in January.

There is something classy about Dark Dreamer though and he deserves consideration.

21:00 - Golden Dove @ 12/1

Finally, to the closer - a four-year-old+ handicap over 1m4f with four places on offer.

A wide draw harms Federated’s chances of following up last month’s win at Newcastle with a repeat success, while the favourite, Fictional, remains unexposed and may still be to show his true form.

Instead, keep an eye on GOLDEN DOVE.

The six-year-old was a C&D winner the last time she ran at Kempton in March 2023 and showed good signs on her reappearance, finishing strongly to take fourth at Lingfield.

That outing came over 1m2f and the extra distance should suit well. So too should the inside draw so do not be surprised to see Simon Earle’s mare get up in the closer.
