Kempton Park Tips: Game Set can win the match

The sole all-weather card on Wednesday comes from Kempton, where they have eight races from 17:25-21:00 on ‘standard to slow’ going.
I've picked out a trio of Kempton Park tips - including four-year-old Game Set who makes just his second handicap start with Saffie Osborne on board.
18:00 – Game Set @ 6/1
It was an uncharacteristically poor display from GAME SET on handicap debut at Doncaster when last seen. Owen Burrows suggested to the stewards that the soft ground was to blame and that could very well be the case and the run was too bad to be true.
His first two starts showed plenty of potential however and there should still be plenty more to come. Victorious on debut at Doncaster in June, he showed a terrific attitude to hold off the second despite edging left on the run-in.
It was a pretty weak race which he won at Wolverhampton next time but he did it well and the result never looked in doubt. The form isn’t much to shout about but it has produced a couple of subsequent winners, albeit in a very low grade.
There’s some evidence in his pedigree to suggest that the step up to a mile will suit and the return to an artificial surface could also help. Now on a 2lb lower mark than when last seen, this is a good opportunity to get back on track.
20:00 – Rajindri @ 3/1
This is a competitive 0-85 but Tom Clover’s RAJINDRI looks like a good bet to grab victory here. She’s yet to finish outside of the first three in four starts on the all-weather and one of those resulted in victory over course and distance.
Clover’s filly has an admirably consistent record and she runs her race more often than not. Three placed efforts were followed by success in a Yarmouth maiden back in July and several subsequent winners have come out of the race.
The four-year-old was narrowly denied on her first start of the season at Yarmouth last month and the handicapper has left her mark unchanged. With that in mind a similar effort could well be enough here and she’s lightly raced enough that further progress shouldn’t be ruled out.
21:00 – Artavian @ 9/2
Kempton’s finale is a fascinating event for the grade and there’s plenty to consider when looking at the race. ARTAVIAN showed a bit more on his final start of the campaign last year, when finishing fourth in a Wolverhampton maiden over an extended 1m1f.
Further improvement was on show when stepped up to 1m3f here on handicap and seasonal debut last time out and he reappears here off the same mark. Patrick Chamings’ gelding is entitled to continue progressing and the extra furlong won’t go amiss on the evidence of his latest effort.
Very lightly raced and thoroughly unexposed, it’ll be a surprise if he’s not bang in the mix once again. It surely won’t be long before he gets off the mark and this could be the night.
