For those looking to back some horses on Wednesday evening, Kempton Park has you covered with an eight-race card.

Our teams of tipsters have gone through the form and picked out three horses to back across the races, so check out our Kempton Park Tips for tonight below...

Kempton Park Tips - Wednesday, February 19, 2025

  • 18:00 Kempton - Party Bear @ 4/1
  • 19:30 Kempton - Mesaafi @ 11/4
  • 20:00 Kempton - Local Hero @ 13/8

18:00 Party Bear @ 4/1

While this is a handicap for three-year-olds, not that many could be said to be massively unexposed. In PARTY BEAR, there is an exception who is also one of few to arrive in obviously good form.

This horse racked up her three qualifying runs in maidens and novices in a six-week spell last summer. Those runs contained some promise, most notably a third at Ripon, where her inexperience was obvious on that tricky course.

Given a break afterwards, Party Bear made her handicap debut at Wolverhampton a month ago. She was backed into favouritism that day, only to be beaten a head by Top Biller.

She was still staying on at the finish, suggesting she can keep improving granted a greater test of stamina.

Party Bear gets that here, and with her fitness now ensured, she should be up to improving and winning this race.

19:30 - Mesaafi @ 11/4

This 6f sprint centres on MESAAFI, who was emphatic in losing his maiden status at Newcastle 25 days ago.

The evidence suggests that it should be taken as no fluke and he is therefore worth backing to follow up.

This horse went from Charlie Fellowes to Simon Pearce last November and was stone last on his debut for Pearce at the beginning of January. With blinkers applied at Newcastle 19 days later, he was quick out of the gates and never really looked in much danger.

He won by two lengths that day, an emphatic margin as far as sprints go, and recorded a good time to boot.

Sprinting looks to be his game and he would be tough to beat if keeping up his progress here.

20:00 - Local Hero @ 13/8

At Kempton at least, LOCAL HERO is an aptly-named horse. This four-year-old has run eight times in all. He is 3-3 at Kempton, and 0-5 everywhere else.

After winning here in June, Local Hero had a couple of poor runs elsewhere and was then given a break.

He got himself race-fit at Lingfield in November, then came in for support back at Kempton the following month.

That day he ran out a comfortable winner over the same course and distance he will race over on Wednesday.

Despite his ready success, Local Hero only went up 4lb in the weights for that win. Most of that is offset by rider Alec Voikhansky's 3lb claim.

Local Hero has more wins in him, and it would be a fair bet that some of those wins are going to come at a track that evidently suits him well.
