Kempton steps in for the regular Wednesday evening card on August 16 and it’s an action-packed night with six races from the Sunbury venue.

The meeting is highlighted by a Class 4 handicap over seven furlongs at 19:30.

Kempton Park Tips

  • 7.30 – Zero Carbon @ 14/1
  • 8.00 – Time’s Eye @ 6/1
  • 8.30 – Hurtle @ 11/4

7.30 – Zero Carbon @ 14/1

The opening handicap on the card takes place at 19:30 over seven furlongs and it can go the way of previous course and distance winner Zero Carbon.

The four-year-old is a perfect one from one at Kempton and the gelding’s record on artificial surfaces reads 12113.

It’s no surprise to see trainer Richard Hughes get Zero Carbon back on the all-weather after a pair of middling turf runs.

A mark of 82 looks workable and there could be more to come from Hughes’ runner back in Sunbury.

8.00 – Time’s Eye @ 6/1

Time’s Eye stayed on well to score over one mile at Windsor last time out and that step up in trip appeared to unlock the three-year-old’s potential.

Ralph Beckett’s charge is unexposed over this trip, with all of the filly’s previous runs coming over seven furlongs, and there could well be more to come off a mark of 80.

Time’s Eye has a decent draw to work with, coming out of stall six and she can make it back-to-back victories under Hector Crouch.

8.30 – Hurtle @ 11/4

Hurtle has been a model of consistency with the three-year-old’s last six form figures reading 231232 and the Paul and Oliver Cole-trained runner can score a deserved success in the one-mile-three-furlong handicap at 20:00.

The son of Mastercraftsman bumped into the extremely well-handicapped Alpina Express, when finishing second at Windsor last time out.

That was a creditable effort and there is unlikely to be a rival as strong as Alpina Express in this line-up.
