Kempton Park Tips: All eyes on Eydon

There are four meetings left on Wednesday afternoon Leicester fell to the weather earlier in the week. Here we focus on the all-weather action from Kempton where there is a bumper nine-race card to get stuck into.
We've picked out a trio to follow for our Kempton Park tips including a pick in the feature Listed contest at Thursday’s meeting and an each-way value selection earlier on the card.
Kempton Park Tips - Wednesday, December 11
18:40 - Mister Bluebird @ 20/1
It often pays to be on the front end over seven furlongs at Kempton and one that might be able to obtain an uncontested lead over this trip on Wednesday is MISTER BLUEBIRD.
He’s at his best when ridden prominently, as seen when winning at Bath in October and he’s left the impression that he would relish a step back up to this sort of distance a couple of times this autumn.
Jim Crowley takes over in the saddle here, a jockey that excels on front runners and his mount looks well treated, having won from higher marks last term.
This is an Extra Place race, meaning that Betfred are paying 4 Places instead of 3 (1/5 Odds).

19:10 - Eydon @ 8/11
The feature race at Kempton on Thursday evening is the Wild Flower Stakes over a mile and a half and the one that is going to be hard to beat is EYDON.
He was a Listed winner back in 2022 when trained by Roger Varian and, while he missed all of last year, he’s shown he retains plenty of ability in three starts this time around.
Those efforts include a half-length defeat at Ayr when returning from 221 days off the track, keeping on well to force a dead-heat for second spot in the closing stages having been left with plenty to do.
He then went on to run a good race in defeat in another Listed contest at Newmarket when third behind Bolster.
This race does not look as competitive as either of those two and he’s a long way clear of the five rivals that he faces here on official ratings.
The son of Olden Times has also given the impression that a step up to this sort of distance would suit a various stages of his career.
If he does find any improvement for the step up in trip, he’s expected to be a tough nut to crack here, given that he’s 16lb clear on official figures.
It’s also worth noting that he’s run some good races in defeat on the all-weather, so the switch of surface is unlikely to be against him.

19:40 - Duke Of Oxford @ 2/1
The London Stayers’ Series final was won by DUKE OF OXFORD last season and Michael Bell’s charge must have solid claims of landing back-to-back renewals.
He got this head back in front over this course and distance last time out, winning in better style than the winning margin suggested and a 2lb rise looks lenient for that success.
His course and distance record now reads 1131, with the sole defeat a close up third returning from a break and this looks like a good opportunity to enhance his impressive strike-rate.
