Kandoo Kid Grand National Odds 2025: Nicholls’ best hope this year?

Form has certainly been trending in the right direction with a solid 12 months or so overall behind him, but does he have what it takes to win Saturday’s big race? Let’s look at Kandoo Kid’s Grand National Odds and recent form in his horse profile…

On paper, seeing that a genuine Grand National contender finished eighth last time out wouldn’t exactly fill you with confidence, but the raw data here needs to be looked at with a magnifying glass.

This was very much just a warm-up race for Kandoo Kid to keep him ticking over. It wasn’t even at two-and-a-half miles and this nine-year-old is much more of a stayer and enjoys going longer distances. He came out of the race well, and jumped and travelled without any problems.

His trainer wasn’t unhappy at all and he came into the season with two aims for this horse - the old Hennessey Gold Cup at Newbury and the Grand National at Aintree. Kandoo Kid achieved the first target with flying colours, coming through to win by one-and-three-quarter lengths back in November at 8/1, showing everyone that he jumps well and clearly has the stamina to go longer distances.

With that test clearly passed, it was all about getting this lovely-looking horse ready for Aintree and that is exactly what Paul Nicholls has done.

Kandoo Kid has deliberately been kept fresh, he runs better that way. He’s been given a good mark that gives him every chance.

All the noise coming out of Ditcheat is that he’s in excellent shape and should be very much in the running come Saturday afternoon. With one of the two targets for the season already in the bag, it would be no surprise if the Kandoo Kid…did.
