Jack Richards' Novices' Handicap Chase Odds

Firefox @ 6/1

This Gordon Elliott seven-year-old won on his first chase start at Down Royal in November and enhanced his claims for this with a runner up to Ile Atlantique and a couple of third-placed finishes behind Croke Park and Majborough.

Jack Kennedy is on board and in a race of this class he should figure prominently.

Nurburgring @ 6/1

Joseph O'Brien has two entries in this new Festival but this looks the pick of the stable. The five-year-old had three wins over hurdles before progressing to the fences in November.

Two third-placed efforts, including a Grade 2 effort gave plenty of encouragement but he disappointed at Leopardstown over the Christmas period.

Asian Master @ 13/2

The first of Willie Mullins' three runners is Asian Master, an eight-year-old out of Shirocco.

After consecutive hurdle victories, he moved to the larger fences and has two finishes in the top-three in his opening two outings.

Springwell Bay @ 7/1

Betfred Ambassador Jonjo O'Neill Jr. is in the saddle for his father on this one and he's had an excellent start to his chase career, winning twice and never finishing out of the top three.

His last three runs have been round this very track and he has good form here, winning twice, including on New Year's Day.

Answer To Kayf @ 9/1

Another recent winner over the fences at Naas, this Terence O'Brien nine-year-old has been extremely consistent recently, finishing in the top five in his last 10 runs.

After going off favourite at Naas in January, J P Shinnick steered him home after strong run from the front.

Pic Roc @ 10/1

Pic Roc could be a real danger for Ben Pauling, who recently stated this seven-year-old was one of his better chances for the Festival.

Despite being winless over chases, he has displayed some good form, with back-t0-back runner up efforts at Exeter and Newbury.

Caldwell Potter @ 11/1

Paul Nicholls trains this Grade 1 winner who was bought for €750k  but has flattered to deceive over fences.

After a win at Carlisle, he finished third to the new Arkle champion Jango Baie and then runner up to Gidleigh Park at Windsor.
