SEVEN live from ITV on Saturday - five from the last day of Glorious Goodwood, and a couple from flat racing HQ at Newmarket. It's been a fabulous five days on the Downs, and we've been right amongst the winners throughout, both in the L15 and Nap Of the Day pieces.

Looks super-competitive as per for the last hurrah, especially that special cavalry charge for the Stewards' Cup (memories of Soba, Lochsong, and Hoof It carrying 10st). Here's our ITV Racing tips for August 2, and if you're viewing have fun, as always. It all kicks in at 13:20.

Rationale;

13:20 Goodwood - Arabian Crown @ 4/1

I'm siding with Godolphin's representative here, with Will Buick unsurprisingly doing the steering. Charlie Appleby trains, and the four-year-old Dubawi gelding has a lot going for him in this mile-and-a-half test.

Arabian Crown will appreciate the softer terrain, having shown a liking for it on several occasions throughout his career. He's a genuine Group-class animal if not quite from the very top drawer and looks more than capable of taking this G3.

He's fairly lightly-raced with only eight spins so far (one break lasted 309 days); four of which have been wins (including two at this G3 level). Versatile - can make all, or be held up. I like his chance.

13:20 Goodwood - Winner Arabian Crown

13:55 Goodwood - Sam Hawkens @ 5/1

The William Haggas bandwagon is rolling along with a 30% success rate over the last 14 days, and this four-year-old gelded son of the great Galileo bids to keep the pot boiling nicely in this staying handicap.

Sam Hawkens is three-from-10 in his career thus far, and one of those wins was last time at Hamilton 48 days ago at just a furlong short of this trip. Importantly it was achieved on good-to-soft, and he has a win on heavy ground to his name too.

Add that he's in career-best form then the prospect of him defying a 4lb penalty, especially given the stable's current record, looks bright. Tom Marquand, who interestingly has only ridden him once before, takes the mount.

13:55 Goodwood - Winner Sam Hawkens

14:10 Newmarket - Awaafi @ 7/2

Some competitive racing today at HQ, and this looks like a warm nursery handicap.

Only five are scheduled to face the starter, one of which is a raider from Richard Fahey's Musley Bank, North Yorkshire base - Awaafi. The two-year-old Far Above filly has had two runs to date, highly creditable first and second-place finishes at Hamilton and Haydock respectively.

The most recent spin in the north-west was over today's six furlongs, and she seemed to need every yard. Her sire won over 7f on debut and this testing July course trip should play nicely to her strengths.

Holds an early-closing Listed entry in Redcar's Two Year Old Trophy (October).

14:10 Newmarket - Winner Awaafi

14:30 Goodwood - Sueno @ 6/1

Another staying test, this time for G2 fillies and mares.

My selection Sueno is a Team Gosden-trained Camelot filly racing in the legendary silks of George Strawbridge. One or two of his used to enjoy a bit of cut in the ground back in the day, notably his great miler Selkirk, and this young lady has proved herself more than capable on a soft surface, too.

John and Thady are running at 24% strike-rate wise, and this could well be another for Clarehaven. Only contest number six today for our selection, so further improvement isn't remotely ruled out.

15:05 Goodwood - Get It each-way @ 15/2

We're paying SIX places, so with around 28 slated to face the starter bar defections that seems the eminently sensible way to play this one.

My selection Get It is a course-and-distance scorer, more of which shortly, and even more importantly in my view is drawn right under the stands' rail, in 27.

When the ground's riding soft it usually proves to be most beneficial to be adjacent to the near rail and he's got the chance to bag it and look to repel all boarders.

He's a vastly-experienced seven-year-old gelding with a fabulous career record for a handicapper of 10-from-42. He's certainly no soft ground expert but if he can get away against the fence (he very much blasts out and looks to make all habitually), then he could do what he did last year - yes, he took down this very race from the 28 box 12 months ago!

That was on good-to-firm off 98, and it's a tall ask now on different ground, and a mark of 104. Wouldn't swap him though.

The word is that some drying out could take place over the sodden course from Thursday's low point and if we do get to good-to-soft or similar, perhaps that might suit him better.

15:20 Newmarket - Karmology @ 5/1

I must confess to having a bit of a soft spot for Karl Burke raiders and here's another case in point.

His powerful yard is another North Yorkshire success story (Coverham on this occasion), and he fields a five-year-old Golden Horn mare here in the shape of Karmology. She's three-from-14 all-time, but hasn't struck since July last year.

The handicapper has rather looked in charge for the main part recently but she did finish a neck second two runs ago in similar Listed company and ran perfectly respectably when last seen four weeks ago at Beverley (beaten 3l).

She's run twice before here, but on the Rowley mile course, and in what I feel isn't exactly a vintage Listed contest she could make her presence felt.

15:20 Newmarket - Winner Karmology

15:45 Goodwood - Mudbir @ 11/2

Another big field, this time for a 7f Class 2 handicap.

Our hope in this one Mudbir is another beautifully drawn, in the one box this time, and the three-year-old Kingman colt has raced fairly prominently in each of his three runs to date. Could stay handy then as even with the stalls in the centre as the bend approaches he'll be better placed to settle on the inside.

Mudbir is another with the Gosdens at Newmarket, and has a good-looking racing weight of 8st 10lb. He's penalised 2lb for winning at Sandown 4 weeks ago (new mark is 91), and that last performance was an eye-catching career-best, dropping down to today's distance of 7f.

As it's a Shadwell conveyance retained jockey Jim Crowley has the riding assignment. Very interesting heat, and for me a horse of immense promise.

15:45 Goodwood - Winner Mudbir
