With just one National Hunt meeting taking place on Wednesday, Flat racing is set to dominate proceedings across Britain and Ireland on the day.

I've picked out our three horse racing tips across the five meetings - including a thoroughly-unexposed handicapper for Charlie Appleby who can thrive going up to two miles for the first time.

Horse Racing Tips - Wednesday, November 6

  • 13:43 Nottingham - Last Outlaw @ 4/1
  • 14:13 Nottingham - King's Reign @ 5/2
  • 17:00 Kempton - Happy Hadeda @ 10/3

13:43 Nottingham - Last Outlaw @ 4/1

Michael Wigham runs the very lightly raced and therefore unexposed LAST OUTLAW here and the three-year-old could well be the one to side with in this competitive event.

No fewer than four of the declared runners managed to win last time out and that includes our selection. Last Outlaw has a 50% record, with two wins from his four career starts.

He kept on well to score by three-quarters-of-a-length over course and distance when last seen and conditions were similarly soft.

Wigham’s gelding showed potential immediately on his debut in a Doncaster maiden, where he was beaten less than two lengths despite finishing fifth.

The son of Dandy Man is clearly adaptable with regards to ground as he won a Leicester novice on good to firm ground next time. A little too keen on the day, he showed a good attitude to hold off the runner-up by a head.

Third on his handicap debut at Windsor on his penultimate start, he showed improvement to score next time and there could well be more to come.

14:13 Nottingham - King's Reign @ 5/2

Another thoroughly unexposed handicapper to look out for on Wednesday is Charlie Appleby’s KING’S REIGN, who got off the mark on his first start in this sphere last time out.

The son of Dubawi struggled a little bit in his first three starts, but put in an improved effort when third behind a very impressive winner at Southwell in September. The winner has since followed up under a penalty and has earned a rating of 99.

The switch to handicaps was always going to suit this horse and he duly obliged at Pontefract. Despite doing plenty wrong in the early stages of the race, he battled back to score by a length-and-a-quarter.

A 4lb rise looks pretty reasonable and he left the impression that a step up in trip could facilitate further progress. Trying two miles for the first time here, it’s unlikely that we’ve seen the best of him yet and a follow-up success could be on the cards.

17:00 Kempton - Happy Hadeda @ 10/3

The early evidence suggests that HAPPY HADEDA is something of a course specialist at Kempton, as Hughie Morrison’s filly has won both of her starts at the track.

She got off the mark in a fillies’ novice here over 6f in September 2023 and that race has produced several subsequent winners.

A Listed race on heavy ground at Newmarket next time was a bit beyond her but she made an excellent return to action after 322 days when winning here on her latest start.

A 3lb rise looks more than reasonable for that effort and the three-year-old is entitled to improve for the run. This is just her second start in handicap company and she looks up to winning more races.
