Hereford scaled

Jump racing holds sway across Britain and Ireland on Wednesday, with four meetings taking place across the afternoon. First off is Market Rasen before they go at Hereford, Wetherby and Dundalk.

Among my horse racing tips for Wednesday is one for trainer Tom George who is of interest on his British debut.

Horse Racing Tips - Wednesday, November 27

  • 12:40 Market Rasen - Brave Jen @ 5/4
  • 12:50 Hereford - Dunstall Rambler @ 11/1
  • 15:45 Hereford - Kashmir De Corton @ 4/1

12:40 Market Rasen - Brave Jen @ 5/4

BRAVE JEN beat a well-fancied Kingston Narcissus in a 2m1f maiden hurdle at Sedgefield when last seen, with the pair pulling well clear of the remainder, and the Tom Ellis-trained runner will be hard to beat again in this 2m½f handicap hurdle.

That was the mare's first success and even Nicky Henderson couldn't gain a win out of her, but she left Seven Barrows in May and has seemingly benefitted from wind surgery.

Second to Dameofthecotswolds in a 2m4½f mares' maiden hurdle at Plumpton in September, she travelled very strongly throughout that day and is clearly better over a bit shorter, when there is less of an emphasis on stamina.

The ground here should be fine for her and a mark of 101 could prove to be lenient. Brave Jen was thought strong enough to take her chance in the Grade 1 Challow Novices' Hurdle last season and she might be finally coming good.

12:40 Market Rasen - Winner Brave Jen

Odds correct at time of publishing.

12:50 Hereford - Dunstall Rambler @ 11/1

Tom George's DUNSTALL RAMBLER was a big eye-catcher when a fast-finishing third over 2m at Ludlow when last seen and the six-year-old son of Walk In The Park rates as a bet in the 2m novices' handicap chase.

Held up in rear in a six-runner affair, the race was always not going to suit him well tactically and the eventual winner Haafback was given a very soft lead out in front and nothing came from rear to challenge.

Dunstall Rambler did however make up serious ground late on and would have finished closer but for a bad mistake at the fourth-last flight. He stuck on very well from the back of the last and nothing was finishing better.

Jack Hogan takes 3lb off in the saddle, so he's effectively 3lb lower in the weights here and, if he gets a strong enough pace to aim at, he could take some beating.

12:50 Hereford - Winner Dunstall Rambler

15:45 Hereford - Kashmir De Corton @ 4/1

Another Tom George runner rates as a bet in the closing bumper as Harry Cobden is a noteworthy jockey booking aboard KASHMIR DE CORTON, who should be better than what he showed on his debut.

Purchased for €60,000 at the Arqana Deauville Summer Sale in 2022, his dam is an unraced half-sister to the classy Black Corton and Hugos New Horse, so he's certainly bred to be good.

He disappointed on his sole start in a French bumper at Le Mans last November, but it's still very early days for him and it's also worth noting he went off favourite on that occasion, so monitor the market.

15:45 Hereford - Winner Kashmir De Corton

Odds correct at time of publishing.
