Horse Racing Tips: Casa No Mento the one at Bangor

There are four midweek meetings in Britain on Wednesday with jumps action from Wincanton, Wetherby and Bangor in the afternoon ahead of the evening all-weather meeting at Kempton.

Below are three horses to follow for our horse racing tips for Wednesday, including Casa No Mento for Nigel Twiston-Davies as she takes a class drop at Bangor on just her second start over fences.

13:55 Bangor-on-Dee – Casa No Mento @ 8/13

Nigel and Sam Twiston-Davies can land the Weatherbys Cheltenham Festival Betting Guide Novices' Chase at Bangor with the mare CASA NO MENTO.

She was last spotted over fences at this venue in November, sent off a 6/1 chance on her introduction to these obstacles in a Listed event for Mares.

Casa No Mento ran well in fourth, considering it was her first attempt and in one start since she ran respectably over hurdles at Ascot last month in a decent Class 2 contest.

Her jumping here in November was sound and she has been found a pleasing opening here based on official ratings.

14:45 Wetherby – Micks Jet @ 15/8

Phil Kirby's team are in rude health and they could see another winner now in MICKS JET.

The mare was second on her chasing bow at Fakenham on New Year's Day over 2m5f in what has proved to be a hot race.

She then dotted up over 2m3½f (soft) at this track three weeks later under Joe Williamson and has been second since at Bangor upped to this distance.

She was the favourite for that contest but couldn't wear down the front-running Lagonda, with Venetia Williams game scorer going on to finish second in a veterans' chase at Haydock this month from 5lb higher.

Mick Jets has gone up 4lb for that near miss and could have more to offer at this extended trip.

15:05 Wincanton – Cast's Tasha @ 6/1

It might pay to forgive CAST'S TASHA her defeat at Lingfield last month when she finished fourth behind the well-backed favourite in Eaton Anne.

That rival had delivered an improved performance when scoring at Uttoxeter on New Year's Eve and was utterly dominant in following up at Lingfield as she left her rivals flailing.

Cast's Tasha had travelled ominously well into the race but had no answer to the easy winner.

From 1lb lower and with a pair of first-time cheekpieces added, this likeable Westerner mare can bounce back for the bang in-form duo of Ben Clarke and Ben Jones, the latter boasting a stunning 63 per cent strike-rate from his last 19 rides.
