Top-class action from Glorious Goodwood and the Galway Races dominates on a busy Wednesday for racing fans in Britain and Ireland.
Goodwood is joined by Redcar, Leicester, Sandown and Perth (jumps) in the UK, while in Ireland they go at Galway in a mixed card that includes the famous Plate.
Amongst our midweek fancies is the speedy Kylian in the Molecomb at Goodwood for Karl Burke and Ryan Moore.

Kylian – Goodwood 3.00
The Jaeger-Lecoultre Molecomb Stakes is a quality five-furlong Group 3 for juveniles on day two at Glorious Goodwood and it pits Royal Ascot winner Big Evs against Sandown Listed winner KYLIAN (9/4) along with some possible improvers in Baheer, Shagraan and Purosangue in a field of eight.
Big Evs was impressive in the Windsor Castle six weeks ago and showed plenty of speed, while Mick Appleby will be content he’s got a good draw this time.
That said, Kylian is starting to look highly progressive after his Dragon Stakes win at Sandown last month. After defeats at York and Carlisle to begin his career, he got the hang of things in a four-length Newcastle novice win in June on the all-weather.
Ryan Moore took over for Sandown last time out and they powered clear having raced off the pace early on to win by an impressive six-lengths.
The Invincible Spirit colt must show he can handle this slower surface at Goodwood but, with Moore on board again and his stable in cracking form of late, he is fancied to take another step up and land this Group 3.
High Class Hero – Galway 7.50
While the Willie Mullins-trained Kilcruit is a tempter in the Galway Plate at 6.40, it may be wiser instead to hold fire and go with the champion trainer in this maiden hurdle over 2m5f when he saddles Listowel bumper winner HIGH CLASS HERO (11/8).
A point-to-point scorer in 2021, he was sold after for £90,000 but did not debut in the Sullivan Bloodstock colours until this June, when he was convincing 6½-length winner of a 2m4f bumper at the Co Kerry venue.
That effort outlined his stamina for this test and it has also been franked by the second, Kinbara, winning both subsequent starts since going over hurdles.
Champion jockey Paul Townend takes over on board for this initial jumping test and, while Mullins could enjoy success earlier on the Galway card, this looks one of the safer prospects on day three at Ballybrit.
Titian – Redcar 4.20
Julie Camacho’s TITIAN (5/1) is a touch unfortunate to be winless in five 2023 starts.
The ex-David Pipe inmate scored for this handler at York (1m2½f, good to soft) in October and, after two AW spins to start his season, was denied by a neck when second in the 22-runner Spring Mile at Doncaster (1m, heavy) in April on his turf return.
He ran a fair race next time at Newmarket in a valuable Class 2 contest in early May and, after a break, was beaten a length-and-a-half at Headquarters last month when third in a fast-ground mile event.
He is clearly threatening to get his head in front from this sort of mark and should relish the straight mile at Redcar this afternoon.
Graham Lee rides and they are on the Most Napped list via the Betfred Betfinder for Wednesday’s action. With eight-runners engaged, they look a solid proposition at the odds.
