Kempton park all-weather

Three of the six meetings across the UK and Ireland on Wednesday are on the all-weather, with Lingfield and Kempton the focus of our selections.

Amongst them is a globe-trotting five-year-old, who returns to the scene of when winning impressively under a penalty at Kempton as a juvenile in November 2020.

Wednesday Racing Tips

  • 12:30 Lingfield - Cremone e/w @ 33/1
  • 19:30 Kempton - Rebel's Romance @ 8/15
  • 20:30 Kempton - Reve De Magritte @ 4/1

12:30 Lingfield - Cremone e/w @ 33/1

Lastly, Cremone makes some each-way appeal in the Class 6 6f nursery handicap on Wednesday afternoon at Lingfield - an Extra Place Race with four on offer at 1/5 the odds.

The daughter of Harry Angel is a half-sister to a 6f AW winner, and 6f on Lingfield's Polytrack should prove ideal.

The selection was nibbled at in the betting when showing some debut promise over 6f at Wolverhampton in October and it is notable that Robert Havlin is returning to the saddle for her handicap debut off a not insurmountable mark of 55. The combination are drawn well too, if starting more alertly on this occasion.

19:30 Kempton - Rebel's Romance @ 8/15

Rebel's Romance is representing Charlie Appleby and Godolphin in the Listed 1m4f Wild Flower Stakes from Kempton on Wednesday evening, and he is fancied to go 2-2 on this course on his belated return to this venue.

The selection was successful on his debut on Newcastle's Tapeta in October 2020, before keeping on strongly to go readily clear and win impressively under a penalty in a novice contest at Kempton the following month.

The next big-flag moment his career was when registering a Racing Post Rating of 117 to land the Group 2 extended 1m1f UAE Derby on dirt at Meydan in March 2021.

The son of Dubawi progressed again to land the Grade 1 1m4f Breeders' Cup Turf at the end of his four-year-old campaign at Keeneland in November 2022.

He is returning from a small break, dropping in class, having finished fourth in the Grade 1 1m4f Joe Hirsch Turf Classic at Belmont latest in October, and any step up from the 112 Racing Post Rating he achieved on that occasion would make him hard to beat back on this course.

He is drawn well to get a suitable racing position under William Buick and he can make this homecoming a winning one.

20:30 Kempton - Reve De Magritte @ 4/1

The Ed de Giles-trained Reve De Magritte should make the most of her second opportunity to shine over the 7f trip at Kempton in a Class 6 handicap from the Sunbury venue on Wednesday evening.

The Dream Ahead filly was too lit up from a wide draw here last month, having twice shaped well for a step up to this course and distance when third and fifth over 6f at Kempton in October, registering Racing Post Ratings of 61 and 59.

The selection got back on track to a degree when a relatively close sixth over this 7f trip at Wolverhampton from another wide draw earlier this month.

He gets Daniel Tudhope in the saddle on this occasion from a favourable draw in stall four. Tudhope has a 19% strike-rate on this course and the combination have live claims from a workable mark of 52.
