Horse Racing Tips: Power Of Destiny to down Eydon

There are three meetings in Britain and one in Ireland on Wednesday, with Jumps action in the afternoon before Flat fare in the evening. First off is Hexham before they go at Hereford, Dundalk and Kempton.
Among my horse racing tips for the day is one for trainer Ralph Beckett, who was mightily impressive on her first outing at Kempton last time.
Horse Racing Tips - Wednesday, December 12
12:50 Hexham - Uokhun @ 9/1
This two-mile mares' novice hurdle is an interesting little race and the one to back is UOKHUN, who represents the bang-in-form Tim Easterby stable.
Easterby struck over hurdles with Smart Decision at Doncaster a couple of weeks ago and Uokhun showed she has a race over obstacles within her compass when third at Wetherby two days before that win for the stable. She can build on that promise with that behind her.
The six-year-old was beaten only nine lengths by winner Let It Rain that day and did comfortably the best of those who came from the rear in a race where the first two were prominent throughout.
There should be plenty more to come from Uokhun, especially if she is ridden more prominently, and Danny McMenamin is back on board. He took the ride last time, too.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
14:35 Hereford - Lime Drop @ 9/2
This novices' handicap chase looks like it might boil down to a match between trainers Dan Skelton and Henry Daly, and it’s the Daly-trained LIME DROP who gets the vote with the stable currently going great guns.
Daly has saddled three winners from his last 13 runners and Lime Drop comes into the race in form herself, having recorded back-to-back career-best efforts in two starts this season.
She returned from a summer break with a good second at Kempton in October and improved significantly for that reappearance when landing a 2m mares’ handicap chase at Uttoxeter last month. She won by a length and a half and the front two were 16 lengths clear.
The eight-year-old is up 5lb in the weights and will need to find further improvement, but is definitely better than ever this campaign and it’s anyone’s guess where her progress will stop. She is well capable of taking another big step forward.

19:10 Kempton - Power Of Destiny @ 9/2
Eydon will be a warm order for this 1m4f Listed race and has a huge class edge on his best form. However, he hasn’t been the most straightforward to train and might be vulnerable again to an improver like POWER OF DESTINY.
The three-year-old looked better than ever when making a successful debut for the Ralph Beckett stable over 1m3f at this course last month and that was her first start on the all-weather. She is open to plenty of further improvement on an artificial surface.
She receives 9lb from Eydon here and is at least proven on sand. Eydon’s best Racing Post Rating on the all-weather is 13lb below his highest on turf, whereas Power Of Destiny is rated 5lb better performer on this surface. That might prove the decisive factor in this event.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
