Horse Racing Tips: Sign up to Treaty at Sedgefield on Wednesday

It’s a mixture of Flat and Jumps racing in the UK and Ireland on Wednesday, with five meetings taking place across the afternoon and into the evening.
Among my horse racing tips for Wednesday is an unexposed young chaser who should handle the likely soft ground at Sedgefield.
Horse Racing Tips - Wednesday, October 9
13:58 Sedgefield - Kingston Narcissus @ 10/1
KINGSTON NARCISSUS makes plenty of appeal in the opening 2m1f maiden hurdle on Sedgefield’s card.
The son of Authorized showed fair ability on the Flat in France, including on testing ground, and joined Rebecca Menzies for 30,000euros in November 2023, having reached the first three in five of his 14 turf starts on the Flat.
Menzies is a local handler who went 5-25 in the past 14 days under both codes, including a winner over hurdles and fences at Uttoxeter and Hexham on Sunday and Friday.
She is 30-238 (13%) with her runners on this course and Ross Chapman is 20-134 (15%) when riding for the yard.
The selection settled better on the soft ground when a more encouraging fourth at Cartmel on his second start over hurdles in May, and has now had more time to acclimatise to his new surroundings after a four-month break.
He is thought capable of posting another career-best at this discipline under conditions which should suit.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
15:28 Sedgefield - Treaty Boy @ 5/1
The weather is forecast to turn wet in the run up to Wednesday’s jumps card at Sedgefield and horses that handle soft ground are likely to come to the fore.
Stuart Coltherd had a winner over fences through Universal Folly at Kelso on Sunday which augurs well for when his representative, TREATY BOY, makes his seasonal reappearance in the extended 2m handicap chase.
Coltherd is 11-92 (12%) with his runners over fences on this track.
The seven-year-old began life over regulation fences off a mark of 94 at Catterick on soft ground in February this year, going clear after getting on the lead two out and running out a comfortable winner by over three lengths.
He couldn’t follow up from a 7lb higher mark 25 days later but ran up to his new rating, and the Well Chosen gelding remains of interest following another summer to strengthen up, returning to the track with the underfoot conditions in his favour.
