Today's Horse Races come from six meetings, including Day 2 of Galway's Summer Festival, but it's the opening card of Glorious Goodwood that takes centre stage.

Among our horse racing tips for the afternoon is one at the Sussex venue for trainer Ralph Beckett who can win there for a third time.

Horse Racing Tips - Tuesday, July 30

  • 13:50 Goodwood - Loyal Touch e/w @ 25/1
  • 14:25 Goodwood - Electrolyte @ 15/2
  • 15:00 Goodwood - Kinross @ 3/1

13:50 Goodwood - Loyal Touch e/w @ 25/1

The opening 1m2f handicap is always a cracking puzzle that has thrown up plenty of winners at big prices and with that in mind, Charlie Johnston's LOYAL TOUCH could be worth an each-way investment with Vincent Ho aboard.

Team Johnston have won this contest eight times since the turn of the century and although this horse has a very inconsistent profile, he is only 2lb higher than when successful at Chester in June, having to do it the hard way from a wide draw.

Loyal Touch enjoys a bit of juice in the ground so the slight ease in conditions should be perfect for him, and he travelled well for a long way in a 1m3f handicap at this meeting in sixth last year. He looks overpriced and might surprise a few.

This is an Extra Place Race, so Betfred are paying 5 places instead of 4 at 1/5 the odds for all each-way bets - and we're offering your stake back (up to £10) as a free bet if your selection finishes 2nd.

14:25 Goodwood - Electrolyte @ 15/2

Evidently held in high regard, Aidan O'Brien's The Parthenon could be all the rage in the betting for the Group 2 Vintage Stakes off the back of his workmanlike maiden win at Gowran Park.

He was made to work hard on the day though and the form hasn't worked out that well, so Archie Watson's ELECTROLYTE could offer some value for punters looking to take the Ballydoyle runner on.

Wathan Racing's two-year-old impressed when scoring over 6f at Ayr on debut, and he only lost out by a nose when second to Rashabar in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot.

He got punished for trying to live with Whistlejacket early in the July Stakes at Newmarket last time but the step up in trip here should suit and he can bounce back to form.

15:00 Goodwood - Kinross @ 3/1

In the Lennox Stakes - a Group 2 over seven furlongs - Ralph Beckett can continue his excellent season as KINROSS bids to land the contest for the third time under Rossa Ryan.

A winner in 2021 and 2023, he went close in second in 2022, and he had excuses for a below-par performance in the July Cup last time as the ground was certainly on the fast side for him.

Back on easier ground, Kinross should feel more at ease and this also represents a drop in grade for the seven-year-old son of Kingman. He was kept in training this year because connections felt he had more days in the sun in him, and this could be his day.
