Tuesday Racing Tips: Hill Of Tara can bring up hat-trick

Jump racing holds sway across the UK and Ireland on Tuesday, with three meetings taking place across the afternoon.

Amongst our Tuesday fancies is one for trainer Venetia Williams, who's in red-hot form having enjoyed success in the Betfair Chase at Haydock last weekend.

12:15 Sedgefield - Coup De Coeur @ 11/4

Successful in the 2m1f Novices' Hurdle in 2020, 2021 and 2022, champion jockey Brian Hughes is seeking four wins on the bounce aboard Coup De Coeur for trainer Micky Hammond.

The French-bred gelding has failed to win a race in his career to date from 13 starts, but a reproduction of some of his French form when trained by Francois Nicolle should be good enough to land a race of this nature.

Second in an Auteuil Listed chase in 2021, he had his British debut for the Hammond yard last month where he fell when weakening off the back of a 469-day absence.

He clearly needed that run badly and he ran a much better race when last seen this month, finishing a solid third over course and distance, beaten just over three lengths in a maiden hurdle. He will be right in the mix if he can build on that.

14:10 Southwell - Mountain Leopard @ EVS

Williams' yard is flying at the moment, enjoying a 32 per cent win rate over the last fortnight and will look to add to that form with a couple of decent runners at Southwell.

The first of those is Mountain Leopard, who makes his reappearence after last being seen shaping well when second in a maiden at this venue in May.

He also had a placing at Chepstow last November, a run that came after almost two years out and the feeling is that he would be off a mark far higher than 106 if he'd had a clean run of things throughout his career.

A step up to 3m½f could suit and, while he needs improvement, his yard's incredible recent form makes the gelding a real contender.
