Horse Racing Tips: Teed Up set for a perfect drive at Bellewstown

Flat racing holds sway across Britain and Ireland on Tuesday with five meetings taking place across the afternoon and into the evening.
First off is Musselburgh before they go at Ripon, Stratford, Bellewstown and Lingfield. Amongst our Tuesday fancies is one for trainer Emmet Mullins who has faced some stiff tasks of late but who is more than capable of getting involved in the closing handicap at Bellewstown.
Horse Racing Tips - Tuesday, August 27
4.25 Ripon - Lokana @ 10/3
The first bet of the day comes in the mile handicap at Ripon where David O'Meara's LOKANA drops down into 0-70 company for the first time, and she must enter the reckoning on these terms.
A daughter of Waldgeist, the three-year-old won a 7f Thirsk maiden on her reappearance in May and was far from disgraced back at that venue in a mile handicap last time when sixth of 10 runners, with the fast ground probably not to her liking.
She has good ground to contend with here which hopefully she'll get away with. Soft ground might be her ideal conditions but as long as it's not rapid, she should make her presence felt off this mark in this sort of company and she still has few miles on the clock.
5.00 Ripon - Spantik @ 11/2
In the following closing 2m handicap at Ripon, as the saying goes, it's horses for courses as last year's winner SPANTIK is bidding to defend his crown for training duo Roger Fell & Sean Murray.
Daniel Tudhope was aboard the son of Canford Cliffs when successful in this 12 months ago, and this will be the first time he's back aboard which could be a real sign of intent.
Spantik hasn't won a race since but that means he is back down to a mark 1lb below his last winning mark. He would have needed the reappearance run when eighth and tailed off at Beverley and much better is expected now.
7.45 Bellewstown - Teed Up @ 16/1
TEED UP was probably teed up for a couple of big runs at the Galway festival but he failed to land a blow on the Flat and over hurdles on the week but the son of Gleneagles has a shout here in the closing 2m1½f handicap.
Trained by Emmet Mullins, five of his six career victories have been around Galway, so he is a real course specialist there, but he is starting to become too well treated to ignore from a rating of 89.
He was a narrow second on the Flat at Galway last summer off a mark of 95 before winning over hurdles there on the same week, and although he has failed to fire since, if Mullins can get him back anywhere near his best, he has a big chance in this. At likely prices, he's worth a punt.
