Catterick races

There are six scheduled meetings across the UK and Ireland on Wednesday. They race at Lingfield, Wexford and Catterick in the afternoon.

The three evening meetings are from Naas, Leicester and Salisbury. We have three Wednesday fancies to follow including a three-year-old whose time appears to be nearing at Catterick.

Wednesday's Racing Tips

  • 17:10 Catterick - Soul Singer @ 7/2
  • 14:28 Wexford - Broomfield Bijou @ 3/1
  • 14:40 Catterick - Easy Peeler @ 10/11

Horse Racing Odds

17:10 Catterick - Soul Singer @ 7/2

SOUL SINGER makes significant appeal in the 12-runner Class 6 6f handicap at Catterick, representing the local trainer Tim Easterby.

Great Habton-based Easterby has had seven winners in the past 14 days. He trained the winner of this race through Mr Greenlight in 2019 and his 2024 representative Soul Singer arrives in fine form and has a favourable low draw.

The three-year-old is a half-brother to four winners from 5f to 1m3f. His dam won over this 6f trip as a juvenile, and is a sister to a 6f Listed winner.

The selection produced a personal best Racing Post Rating (RPR) of 68 from a prominent position throughout over this 6f trip on good to firm ground at Redcar last month in finishing a close second. His rating went up 2lb to a mark of 62 but he looks capable of building on that effort under potentially ideal conditions.

14:28 Wexford - Broomfield Bijou @ 3/1

BROOMFIELD BIJOU is thought capable of making a successful chasing debut in the 2m Wexford Mares Beginners Chase which opens up that card in Ireland on Wednesday, representing Philip Dempsey.

Dempsey is 2-10 (20%) with his runners over fences at Wexford.

The selection is a six-year-old mare by Walk In The Park and she has some of the best form on offer having attained a mark of 124 through two hurdles victories over an extended 2m1f at Ballinrobe and this bare 2m trip at Punchestown.

The third-placed horse in that Punchestown success was the Willie Mullins representative Feu Du Bresil. He ran second to Sure Touch at Perth in April (RPR 140) and that horse has just won the Summer Plate at Market Rasen.

Broomfield Bijou arrives after an 83-day break and the prevailing good ground should suit. He has a particularly appealing pedigree for this change in discipline, being the first foal out of a French 2m2f chase winner, who is a half-sister to the high-class 2m-2m3f hurdle/chase winner Petit Robin.

14:40 Catterick - Easy Peeler @ 10/11

The final suggestion is EASY PEELER in the Class 5 6f juvenile maiden from Catterick, representing John and Sean Quinn with Jason Hart continuing in the saddle.

Hart is 3-13 (23%) when riding juveniles for the Quinns and Easy Peeler is thought capable of going one place better than when producing a really promising debut effort in finishing a close second from an unfavourable low draw over this 6f trip on good ground at Ripon earlier this month.

The way she finished off that contest suggests she should be extremely hard to deny if getting into a similar prominent position ahead of the climb for the line on Wednesday afternoon.
