Flat Horse Racing

No fewer than six meetings make up Today's Horse Races across the UK and Ireland. That includes flat cards from Lingfield, Brighton, Hamilton and Roscommon, plus jumps fare at Tipperary and Stratford.

Among Tuesday's racing tips is a horse that has caught the eye in running in his last couple of outings and may be able to get off the mark at the sixth attempt.

Tuesday's Racing Tips

  • 14:45 Hamilton - Mysteryofthesands @ 6/1
  • 18:20 Roscommon - Saffredi @ 4/1
  • 19:00 Lingfield - Miss Sligo e/w @ 16/1

14:45 Hamilton - Mysteryofthesands @ 6/1

This like a competitive heat, despite the small field of six runners but there are a few reasons to this that MYSTERYOFTHESANDS could go well.

Tim Easterby’s charge ran a belter when just touched off in his last couple of starts, including over this course and distance last time.

Sean Kirrane, a talented young rider going places, retains the ride and while he’s a seven-race maiden, he’s been given the impression that his turn is near in handicap company.

A 3lb rise for his latest outing doesn’t look insurmountable in what looks like a weaker race and if he can continue in good form, this son of Footstepsinthesand should continue on his upward trajectory.

18:20 Roscommon - Saffredi @ 4/1

Gavin Cromwell’s horses have been running well over the last month despite a modest enough strike-rate over the last fortnight, and one that may be able to boost his stats is SAFFREDI at Roscommon on Tuesday evening.

He didn’t show a great deal in maidens both last year and this but it was a major step forward when much better than his finishing position at Leopardstown on his penultimate start.

That was a step back up in trip that appeared to suit and the son of Twilight Son met a heap of trouble in running that day, caught with nowhere to go having to go for a brave run up the inside in the closing stages.

He was a major drifter in the market at Down Royal subsequently, but he still ran with credit to finish fourth of 13 and while he was keen again, there should be more to come if he settles better.

Gary Carroll retains the ride and his mount gives the impression that he could be well ahead of his handicap mark of 61.

19:00 Lingfield - Miss Sligo e/w @ 16/1

It often pays to be on the front end on Lingfield’s all-weather track and that could really suit MISS SLIGO who did too much too soon over this course and distance last time out.

However, this mare went close on artificial surfaces at the start of the year and she has the potential to come on for her recent run which was her first in a couple of months.

She’s won twice at this venue already, including over this course and distance, and she’s below her last winning handicap mark so she rates a solid each-way proposition.
