We have a fairly quiet Tuesday on our hands with just three meetings taking place across the UK and no Irish action. The National Hunt action in the afternoon comes from Exeter and Wetherby and the day’s racing is completed by Wolverhampton’s seven-race all-weather card in the evening.

Amongst our Tuesday fancies is one for trainer Nigel Twiston-Davies who struggled on heavy ground last time but should find life easier in slightly better conditions. Here are our Tuesday racing tips.

Tuesday Racing Tips

  • 2:00 Exeter - In Rem @ 10/1
  • 3:00 Exeter - Numitor @ 11/1
  • 3:45 Wetherby - Top Of The Bill @ 4/1

2:00 Exeter - In Rem @ 10/1

Jane Williams’ gelding IN REM has been in pretty bad form over fences so far this season and would appear to be well suited by the return to hurdles. A winner of five of his nine starts over timber, he’s very well handicapped on the best of his form.

The son of Kapgarde is adaptable with regards to ground and has won on both good and heavy going. Testing conditions are all but guaranteed here and they aren’t likely to cause him any problems.

His last win over hurdles came at Warwick off a mark of 115 back in February 2022 and he’s currently on a 5lb lower mark, which certainly catches the eye.

Having also won two of his three starts at Exeter, he’s a bit of a course specialist and a glorious return to form should not be ruled out.

In Rem at 10/1

3:00 Exeter - Numitor @ 11/1

Look out for NUMITOR at Exeter on Tuesday as the Heather Main-trained 10-year-old can return to winning ways, even off the back of a substantial absence.

The son of Schiaparelli hasn’t been seen for 340 days, which is admittedly a lengthy lay-off to overcome. He has won first time out before and he’s expected to be ready to compete here, against his fellow veterans for the first time.

He was last seen pulling up in the Topham Chase at Aintree last April but he can be forgiven for that effort, as his chances were effectively ended by a bad mistake at the second fence.

It was a much better effort at Newbury before that however, finishing second to a now 136-rated chaser and had to give him 12lb. Finishing well clear of the third that day, it was a cracking run off a mark of 135.

His last win came at Doncaster in March 2022 and he absolutely hacked up when winning by a wide margin. That victory came off just a 1lb lower mark and he should be very competitive on the evidence of that effort.

Numitor at 11/1

3:45 Wetherby - Top Of The Bill @ 4/1

The best race of the day at Wetherby is a competitive-looking six-runner novices’ handicap chase and the winner can come from southern raider Nigel Twiston-Davies’ yard. TOP OF THE BILL is lightly raced over fences and a return to winning ways could be on the agenda.

You can probably forgive his disappointing effort last time out as he appeared to get bogged down by the extremely testing conditions at Exeter that day. The soft ground here shouldn’t be a problem and he can get back on track.

He’s already a two-time winner over fences and both victories came over three miles at Exeter. The first of those was a particularly commanding performance in December and he was always up with the pace, before going clear to win by 13 lengths.

A 7lb higher mark proved no obstacle next time out and he made all the running to win easily, whilst being eased down at the line. Currently on a 6lb higher mark, a repeat of that effort here should be more than enough to get the job done.

Top Of The Bill at 4/1
