Horse Racing Tips: Previous can repeat the trick at Kempton

There’s loads of action to hold our attention on Tuesday, with five meetings taking place across Britain and Ireland, and the racing should be thoroughly competitive. The action gets underway on the south coast at Brighton in the afternoon and Kempton swiftly follows. Roscommon hosts Ireland’s sole meeting in the evening, whilst they also race at Wolverhampton and Chepstow.
Amongst our Tuesday fancies is one for trainer Kevin Philippart De Foy who won nicely on debut for previous connections and should be going close under a penalty this time around.
Horse Racing Tips - Tuesday, August 19

15:00 Kempton - Previous @ 7/4
Kevin Philippart De Foy’s PREVIOUS was initially a very cheap purchase at 14,000 guineas and recouped a fair portion of that back when winning on debut at Newcastle in June. There was lots to like about that performance and she’ll be hard to beat if turning up in similar form.
Getting off to a slow start at Newcastle, she recovered and started making progress with three furlongs to go. Her rivals couldn’t get close in the end and a three-length victory is reflective of her dominance. The form has also worked out well with several subsequent winners coming out of the race.
Amo Racing have got their chequebook out once again and have since purchased the daughter of Havana Gold. Making her debut for new connections here, you get the feeling that a 7lb penalty wouldn’t have stopped her last time and won’t make much difference here.

16:00 Kempton - Dubai Beach @ 5/2
Some horses just prefer racing on the all-weather and Saeed Bin Suroor’s DUBAI BEACH fits into that category. She wasn’t a fan of the turf when producing a below-par display at Thirsk earlier this month and top jockey Oisin Murphy has been booked for the ride.
She was a comfortable winner here on handicap debut a couple of months ago and the form has been boosted twice since. Even more impressive at Chelmsford next time, she breezed clear to score by five-and-a-half lengths and the handicapper didn’t miss that performance.
Her current rating does make life harder but she’s been dropped 1lb since her last run and definitely deserves another chance, now returning to an artificial surface. This daughter of Blue Point remains lightly raced and further progress can’t be ruled out.

19:30 Chepstow - Highfield Viking @ 8/13
HIGHFIELD VIKING runs his race more often than not and John & Sean Quinn’s five-year-old had loads in hand when bolting up at Ayr last time out. The handicapper is sure to have something to say so now looks like a good time to catch him.
He carries a 5lb penalty and is yet to be reassessed, so victory could be on the cards once again. It’s fair to say that an extra 5lb wouldn’t have made much of a difference last time out so a similar performance here should be more than enough.
Believe You Me looks like the most likely challenger but his three other rivals are all out of form and Highfield Viking looks like the one they all have to beat. Jockey Jason Hart recently rode his 1000th winner and this horse can help him on his way to 2000.
