Thursday Racing Tips: Morris can dance to another victory

Flat racing holds sway across the UK and Ireland on Thursday with six meetings taking place across the afternoon and into the evening. First off is Newmarket, before they go at Carlisle, Doncaster, Leopardstown, Newbury and Epsom.
Among our Thursday fancies is one for trainer John & Thady Gosden who went close on seasonal reappearance and should improve drastically.

4.10 Newmarket- Scommessa Sicura @ 7/2
Look out for SCOMMESSA SICURA at Newmarket as the Andrew Balding-trained filly looks set to open her account on her fourth start.
This daughter of Cracksman has been unlucky not to have shed her maiden tag so far in her career finished second on each of her three outings.
The form of her second-place finishes looks strong; last time out, she was a neck behind a next-time-out winner over course and distance.
The form of her penultimate run also reads well as she was a length behind the third finisher in the Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Balding’s filly has a string of Group entries in the latter half of the season, and should take this race comfortably.
She is the most experienced filly in the line-up and has bigger and better races to come.

4.45 Newmarket- Morris Dancer @ 6/4
John and Thady Gosden’s MORRIS DANCER can thrive after finishing third in the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot on seasonal reappearance.
This son of Palace Pier had a strong record as a two-year-old, finishing second in a Group 2 at Goodwood, just a short head behind next-time-out Group 1 winner Zavateri.
He improved again to win a Listed contest in comfortable style at Salisbury, running out a four-length victor.
He had a long break and made his belated return in the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot. Despite most of the field being race fit, Morris Dancer battled hard coming from off the pace to finish third.
That form has substance, as the winner finished midfield in both the British and Irish 2,000 Guineas, and Saber Strike, who was roughly three lengths behind him that day, has since placed in a Group 3.
Expect John and Thady Gosden’s promising young colt to improve drastically for that seasonal reappearance, and he should find himself back in the winners’ enclosure.

7.27 Newbury- Storm Point @ 10/3
Ed Walker’s gelding Storm Point was an impressive winner over course and distance last time and the son of Blue Point will be hard to beat again if he performs at a similar level.
Walker’s gelding has been given a 5lb rise in the weights for his win at Newbury and looks to be the one to beat in this field.
