Horse Racing Tips: Sunny Time can shine at Chelmsford

Three meetings are scheduled in the afternoon and into the evening - Jumps fare from Wincanton (pending inspection) and two all-weather Flat affairs from Chelmsford and Southwell.
My horse racing tips for Thursday includes one for trainers Peter Charalambous and James Clutterbuck who look to have turned a corner.
Horse Racing Tips - Thursday, January 30
13:12 Southwell - Humble Spark @ 15/2
HUMBLE SPARK has shown some good form this winter, with a string of impressive performances, all of which came on the all-weather at Newcastle. He added to his already eye-catching record at the course which now includes four wins.
He was unlucky in defeat when last seen, having to run under top weight and clearly felt the impact. After making a poor start, a trait which has blighted his career, Humble Spark ran the early part of his race well but was unable to catch the eventual winner in the closing stages.
The big question hanging over him here is how will he handle the track at Southwell with its sharper bends?
Humble Spark likes to race at the rear of the field, which suggests that it will not cause too much of an issue as he has less chance of being carried wide.
An additional benefit today is the step up in Class as that will take some weight off his back, while an additional 3lb comes off thanks to his jockey, Amie Waugh.
He has every chance to continue his good form here.

13:42 Southwell - King's Lynn @ 9/2
Winner of the Temple Stakes in May 2022, KING'S LYNN has not been able to reach those heights since.
The veteran of 41 races has yet to win since that triumph, yet there are signs there is still a little bit of magic in his legs.
He disappointed last time out in a Class Two at Newcastle. He travelled well in the early part of the race, but was unable to kick on in the closing stages, weakening in the final furlong.
However, his run before that at Southwell showed that he can perform at this level. In a Class Three he was, again, prominent in the early stages of the race and looked well placed in the final furlong to challenge for the win only to be squeezed between runners right at the worst possible time, which arguably cost him the race.
On his day Kings Lynn has shown that he can be a classy performer and the suggestion is he could get back to his old ways back in a Class Three at Southwell.

19:30 Chelmsford - Sunny Time @ 5/6
SUNNY TIME seemed to struggle during the early part of his career, running consecutive races without making much impact. He was then tried for the first time with cheekpieces last month at Chelmsford and the benefit was almost immediate.
He ran a solid race and looked to be making a run for the line. However, he suffered a slight bit of interference in the closing stages which took some of his momentum, but still managed to finish an impressive third.
Sunny Time then attracted some support for his run last time out and duly delivered with a first career win at Lingfield, again running strongly.
He looks to be in a purple patch and has only been put up 5lb for his win last time out. He should not find that rise too much of an obstacle and looks well placed to follow up here.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
