Horse Racing Tips: Issar could be the one at Market Rasen

We have a quiet day on the racing front on Wednesday, with just three fixtures taking place across Britain and no Irish meetings. Market Rasen gets us started in the afternoon at 14:15, and Hereford follows soon after at 14:30, with Kempton's competitive all-weather card providing the evening entertainment between 16:20 and 20:30.
Amongst our Wednesday fancies is one for Gary & Josh Moore that has been competitive in some fair races this term, and a return to winning ways could well be on the cards.

14:15 Market Rasen - Castanea Breeze @ 4/5
This certainly isn't the deepest of maiden hurdles and it looks there for the taking. With that in mind, hurdling debutant CASTANEA BREEZE could well be the one to side with. Tom Cannon takes the ride for Lucy Wadham, and there's a lot to like about his profile.
Castanea Breeze should be suited by the 2m 4½f trip now trying hurdles, as his dam is related to winners over 2m 5f and up to 3m 2f. With that in mind, this race looks like a good starting point and improvement is anticipated in this sphere.
He has had three starts in bumpers to date and showed some promise when finishing third at Wetherby in February. He was outpaced at a key stage over two miles on that day, and that effort certainly indicates that the longer trip here will be a big positive.
Both trainer and jockey combined for a winner at Newbury last week and it would be no surprise if this gelding was to provide them with another.

15:15 Market Rasen - Issar d'Airy @ 2/1
Gary & Josh Moore's ISSAR D'AIRY has been competitive in some much tougher races this season and a return to winning ways could be on the agenda. Consistent without winning this season, most of his best efforts have come on good ground.
Conditions are, therefore, likely to suit, and he was unfortunate to bump into a well-handicapped horse when finishing second at Sandown earlier this month to Classic Anthem. Freddie Mitchell takes 5lb off on Wednesday and that could make all the difference here.
His second-place finishes behind Martator in a £100,000 race at Ascot in November and Libberty Hunter at Cheltenham a month later are easily the best pieces of form on offer and he's surely the one to beat on that evidence.
A mark of 130 shouldn't be beyond him and having been competitive off it before, a big run is expected and this looks like his best opportunity in a while.

19:00 Kempton - Popmaster @ 12/1
Look out for Ed Walker's POPMASTER here, as he only just failed to give Roi De France 5lb over a mile here back in November and he's 9lb better off with that rival this time around. Surely, he, therefore, has every chance of reversing the form here.
This son of Gutaifan acquitted himself well in Listed company over a mile at Lingfield last time out, finishing third behind Tyrrhenian Sea, and having been dropped 2lb since, he now returns to a competitive handicap mark.
His last success came in a Listed race over this trip at Newbury back in September 2023 and the seven-year-old's best recent form suggests a long overdue return to the winners' enclosure is a distinct possibility.
