Horse Racing Tips: Three good chances from Ayr on Thursday

Flat racing holds sway across Britain and Ireland on Thursday, with five meetings taking place across the afternoon and into the evening. They go at Ayr Pontefract, Yarmouth and Naas before late action from Chelmsford.
Among my horse racing tips on Thursday is one for trainer Kevin Ryan who has made the frame on all four starts and won't have to improve much on his most recent effort to land this upped in trip.
Horse Racing Tips - Thursday, September 19
13:42 Ayr - Jorge Alvares @ 5/2
Kevin Ryan's JORGE ALVARES has failed to get his head in front in four attempts to date, but the son of Cotai Glory can change that in the opening 7f novice in the hands of Shane Gray.
Ryan has won this contest twice in the last three years and he also runs Bowen Island, who comes here with decent form and has just had a gelding operation. To be fair, there isn't much between the pair on all known form but the selection just gets the nod.
Jorge Alvares was narrowly denied in a 6f Hamilton maiden in July, beaten by a nose when rallying again once headed, and he was flying home when fourth of 20 in the 6f Premier Yearling Stakes at York last month.
This is his first try at this trip but all the evidence would suggest he's going to relish it so hopefully he gets enough pace to aim at. If he does, he should win.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
14:12 Ayr - Methgal @ 8/1
In the following mile novice at Ayr, Karl Burke's METHGAL could be well up to the task. This is a weak enough contest with several runners either making their debut or trying to come on from an average enough first effort.
Methgal will hold the experience edge on many of his rivals having had two starts to date and he has some decent form in the book.
The form of his debut fourth over 7f at Haydock hasn't worked out too well, but he was a staying on sixth in a strong 7f Goodwood maiden when last seen and the step up in trip should be massively in his favour.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
16:15 Ayr - Dancingwithmyself @ 11/4
Trainer Michael Bell is a dab hand at improving a filly and DANCINGWITHMYSELF can continue her fine run of form and land the 1m2f fillies' handicap in the hands of Callum Rodriguez.
The three-year-old won over a mile on the all-weather at Chelmsford last October, but has improved for the step up in trip on turf this year, winning comfortably over this trip at Ripon in June before following up over 1m4f at that track when last seen.
Dancingwithmyself was very slow away the last day but finished off her race in the manner of a filly miles ahead of the handicapper so a 6lb rise probably won't be enough to halt her progression at present for a very shrewd handler.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
