Horse Racing Tips: Lord can Thunder home at Plumpton

Jumps racing holds sway across Britain and Ireland on Sunday with three meetings taking place across the afternoon. First off is Chepstow before they go at Naas and Plumpton.
Amongst our horse racing tips for Sunday is one for trainer Joe Tizzard, who won the opening 2m4f handicap chase last season with Scarface and the yard has another strong contender a year on.
Horse Racing Tips - Sunday, January 5
12:35 Plumpton - Lord Of Thunder @ 6/4
Opening the card at Plumpton is the 2m4f handicap chase and the class act in the three-runner affair is Gary & John Moore's Mark Of Gold. Rated 142, he won a Grade 2 at Ascot on his chasing debut last month and is a classy type.
However, now back in a handicap he will have to concede 15lb to Joe Tizzard's LORD OF THUNDER, who should prove tough to beat if allowed to dictate things on the front end.
The Tizzards won this very race last year with Scarface and Lord Of Thunder is a dual hurdles winner who was in the process of running a big race before falling at Cheltenham on his chasing bow on his return in October.
He was just over two lengths down in fourth and making ground when departing two from home. He wasn't as impressive when last seen finishing fourth at Exeter but he has found a good opportunity here.

13:05 Plumpton - Risk It All @ 13/8
Next up is the 2m juvenile hurdle and surprisingly Gary & Josh Moore are 0-19 at Plumpton since they both went onto the licence. Nonetheless, they should be able to get off the mark with RISK IT ALL.
A comfortable six-length winner over 2m on his sole Flat start when trained in France, the four-year-old was sent off favourite for a Kempton juvenile hurdle on his British debut over the Christmas period.
Held up in last place early, he ran very green on the day but made up a lot of ground in the closing stages to finish a never-nearer third, beaten less than four lengths.
Risk It All is entitled to improve significantly with that run under his belt and it's likely he will be ridden a little closer to the pace here.

13:35 Plumpton - As The Fella Says @ 6/4
AS THE FELLA SAYS got off the mark at the third attempt in Irish point-to-points and, picked up for £60,000 subsequently and sent to Nicky Henderson, there must be plenty of ability there.
He made a promising debut for Seven Barrows when runner-up at Warwick over 2m5f on his hurdling debut, only finding a much more experienced rival too good on the day.
Now the cobwebs have been shed, he should be well up to the task in a competitive novices' hurdle with Nico de Boinville aboard.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
