A trio of meetings take place across the UK and Ireland on Sunday, with Flat fare from Brighton and Tipperary joining the sole National Hunt card at Worcester.

Amongst our fancies for Sunday’s action is Snuggle for Ed Walker and Tom Marquand at Brighton.

Sunday Racing Tips

  • 14:10 Worcester – Jet Of Magic @ 15/8
  • 16:10 Brighton – Snuggle @ 9/4
  • 16:20 Tipperary – Lady Tilbury @ 7/2

14:10 Worcester – Jet Of Magic @ 15/8

Nigel Twiston-Davies typically does well with his Worcester runners, the Naunton handler showing a profit of £23 to a level stake over the last five seasons at this track.

He’s got just one runner on the card on Sunday and son Sam will be in the plate on Jet Of Magic in the opening Neu-Servo Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase.

Formerly trained by Paul Nicholls, the seven-year-old made a winning start for these connections over hurdles at Uttoxeter over just shy of three-miles in July and looked well set for a front-running follow up there since, only to jink after landing over the second last and unship his pilot.

This former point-to-point winner can make a winning start over fence and enhance his trainers’ fine Worcester record by accounting for three rivals here.

16:10 Brighton – Snuggle @ 9/4

Snuggle is one to take very seriously for trainer Ed Walker and Tom Marquand at Brighton on Sunday afternoon.

The Showcasing gelding began this season with a string of excellent efforts over 6f, finally getting his head in front at Windsor (6f, soft) in May in novice company. After a short break, he returned at Newbury in July and was second on his first attempt at the 7f trip.

He hasn’t quite progressed at that increased distance as might have been hoped in some decent races since and now reverts back to sprinting from a reduced mark. The give underfoot favours him and he’s taken to run a big race under Tom Marquand.

Former C&D winner Holbache could go well back here, though he was disappointing at Ripon last time and despite the fact that handicapper has cut him some slack, he has yet to defy a mark as high as 69, while Ormolulu won at Leicester three weeks ago for Jamie Osborne but is 3lb higher facing into a stronger race here. With this being a Betfred Extra Place Race (three places), Snuggle looks the best option.

6:20 – Lady Tilbury @ 7/2

A Listed sprint on the card at Tipperary via the Irish Stallion Farms Ebf Abergwaun Stakes where Twilight Jet has assumed favouritism for Michael O’Callaghan.

He was last spotted finishing sixth in a 6f contest at the Curragh in early July, right behind today’s rival Lady Tilbury.

Though the favourite is better off on these terms and entitled to turn things around, it’s worth remembering that David Marnane’s filly has won all three starts over C&D.

She clearly likes it here and was successful at this venue last month in the hands of Luke McAteer. She was well held in a Group 3 at Naas last weekend but dropping back to 5f at this favoured venue should count for plenty.
