Carlisle jumps

Jumps racing holds sway across the UK & Ireland on Sunday, with four meetings - from Curragh, Cork, Carlisle and Huntingdon - taking place across the afternoon.

Among my Sunday horse racing tips is one for trainer Ann Hamilton who really caught the eye on his chasing bow at Hexham last month and won't need to improve much on that effort to win the opener at Carlisle.

Horse Racing Tips - Sunday, November 3

  • 12:48 Carlisle - Dare To Shout @ 2/1
  • 14:03 Huntingdon - Allbetsoff @ 4/1
  • 15:15 Cork - King Ferdinand e/w @ 20/1

12:48 Carlisle - Dare To Shout @ 2/1

Three times a winner over hurdles, Ann Hamilton's DARE TO SHOUT made an encouraging start to his chasing career on his return last month and he rates as a bet in the opening 2m4f novices' handicap chase under Brian Hughes.

Pulled up on his last start over hurdles at Ayr back in April, connections decided now is the right time to send the seven-year-old chasing and he only found Lucinda Russell's Choose A Copper too good at Hexham over this trip last month.

There was a 21-length gap back to the third that day and, with champion jockey Hughes taking over in the saddle, there is surely more to come from this boy in this sphere.

Dare To Shout has gone up a pound for that effort and if the track doesn't dry out too much he has a huge chance on these terms. All of his best form is on ground with a bit of ease in it.

14:03 Huntingdon - Allbetsoff @ 4/1

Although he has been pulled-up on his last two outings, try not to be too alarmed about the form figures for ALLBETSOFF, because he has a genuine chance in what is a weak two-mile claiming hurdle.

Trained by Mark Walford, the eight-year-old won three times early on last season, including when landing this very race comfortably when well supported in the market on the day.

His last success came in a handicap over this trip at Uttoxeter in July and he has been nowhere near his best since.

However, if he's given a forceful ride in a weak race of this nature, he will take all the beating if he's close to his best.

15:15 Cork - King Ferdinand e/w @ 20/1

Trends for the Cork Grand National would suggest you need to be with something down near the foot of the weights and, with a nice weight on his back, KING FERDINAND might outrun his large odds in the 3m4f Listed feature.

He was well behind the reopposing Hand Over Fist when sixth here over 3m last time, always in rear and only making moderate late headway once the race was away and gone from him.

This lad won over 3m1f on heavy ground in the past when trained in Britain, so there's every chance he will see out this extreme trip and, if he can bounce back to the form when an impressive winner at Killarney in August, he is no forlorn hope here.

This is an Extra Place Race, with 4 places on offer instead of 3 at 1/5 the odds for all each-way bets.

15:15 Cork - Each-way (1/5 - 4 places) King Ferdinand

Odds correct at time of publishing.
