Flat racing just holds sway across Britain on Sunday with three meetings taking place across the afternoon. First off is Pontefract before they go to Ffos Las and the over the jumos at Hexham.

Amongst Sunday's racing tips is one for trainer Sam England who has got the season off to a fast start and his runner has a very progressive profile.

14:18 Hexham - Fathers Advice @ 17/2

Our first bet of the day comes with a warning sign as the seven-year-old is yet to find the winner's circle in 26 career starts, but FATHERS ADVICE should be very competitive off his current mark in the opening 2m conditional jockey's handicap hurdle.

Trained by Mike Smith, the son of Aiken wasn't without support when fourth over fences at Cartmel on his reappearance last month, outpaced half a mile from home but rallying to the line at the death.

Connections are now looking to exploit a career-low hurdles mark. Narrowly touched off in a 2m1f handicap hurdle at Cartmel last August from a mark of 86, he is 5lb lower now and Ben Smith takes off a further 8lb in the saddle.

Fathers Advice might find a couple too strong again, but he's weighted to run a big race and the young lad in the saddle had a great season last term with a 19 per cent return.

16:18 Hexham - Haarar @ 11/4

Trainer Sam England has got the new season off to a flyer with 12 winners from his first 41 runners, a healthy 29 per cent yield, and his progressive gelding HAARAR can bring up the hat-trick in the 2m4f handicap hurdle.

The son of Muhaarar was formerly trained by Michael Bell on the Flat and won twice in that sphere, but he looks a natural hurdler and really impressed when landing a Southwell maiden hurdle and a Cartmel novice hurdle in May.

Haarar stayed 1m6f on the Flat, so we could see further improvement as he steps up in trip over obstacles. He was only getting going when he hit the line the last day and he looks well treated off a mark of 100.

17:18 Hexham - Hidden Commander @ 15/2

Moving on to the penultimate race on the card at Hexham and despite having the burden of carrying 12 stone, HIDDEN COMMANDER should prove too classy for his rivals in the 2m4f handicap chase if he puts his best foot forward.

The nine-year-old son of Shirocco last won over this course and distance back in October and he's now back down to his last winning mark after a couple of below-par efforts Kelso in May.

Nonetheless, he ran well for a long way from the front when last seen in fourth, caving inside the last couple of furlongs but this track should play to his strengths. He drops in grade and should be well up to the job.
