Jump racing holds sway across Britain and Ireland on Sunday with five meetings taking place across the afternoon and into the evening. First off is Stratford before they go to the Curragh, Wincanton, Musselburgh and Tramore.

Among the fancies in my Sunday racing tips is one having his first start for trainer Harriet Dickin down in grade off a nice mark and should go well at a decent price.

  • 14:15 Stratford - Mighty Moth @ 3/1
  • 16:25 Stratford - Precious Bounty @ 11/2

13:40 Stratford - Hasty Parisian @ 10/1

The first selection of the day goes in the 3m2½f handicap hurdle and although he is a quirky sort, HASTY PARISIAN is worthy of a bet on his first start for Harriet Dickin with talented 3lb claimer Bradley Harris booked for the job.

Formerly with Anthony Charlton, the six-year-old proved to be hugely frustrating for followers. His sole success came over two miles at Sandown in March 2022 off a mark of 107 when trained by Milton Harris, but he is now running off 10lb lower.

This frontrunner ran a poor race at Plumpton last time. He was slow at his hurdles and finished last of the four runners over 3m1f, but this is a big drop in class and if he can't run a good race off a career-low mark in this grade, there isn't much hope for him.

14:15 Stratford - Mighty Moth @ 3/1

Moving on to the 2m½f mares' handicap hurdle on the card, Easy Peasy is bound to go off a short price given that she arrives following another win and is trained by Nicky Henderson.

Nonetheless, there could be some value in backing Noel Williams' MIGHTY MOTH. Third behind two classy types in Jango Baie and Tellherthename in an Ascot novice in November, she disappointed in a Listed contest at Newbury subsequently.

Mighty Moth made no mistake when last seen landing a maiden hurdle at Hereford, dominating the race from the front. The second went close next time to give the form a little boost and she could be well treated on her handicap debut.

16:25 Stratford - Precious Bounty @ 11/2

Deise Aba is likely to go off a warm order for the closing 2m6½f hunters' chase, but at likely larger odds PRECIOUS BOUNTY might give him a run for his money on his first start for Kelly Morgan.

The 10-year-old son of Yeats arrives fresh from another point victory, and was far from disgraced when last seen in this sphere here last June, finishing third behind Sine Nomine who went on to win at the Cheltenham Festival last month.

That piece of form alone looks really solid in the context of this race, and while the favourite could well simply be a better horse, the selection is capable of running a big race for a trainer who has saddled 10 winners from 68 runners under rules in the last five seasons.
