Kempton park racecourse

Jumps racing holds sway across Britain and Ireland on Sunday with four meetings taking place across the afternoon. First off is Limerick before they go to Kempton Park, Leopardstown and Sedgefield.

Among our Sunday fancies is one for trainer Nigel Twiston-Davies who needs to bounce back from a poor effort at Kelso when last seen but should be more than up to the job if anywhere near his best.

Horse Racing Tips - Sunday, October 20

  • 14:15 Kempton - Lime Drop @ 7/1
  • 14:50 Kempton - Seeyouinmydreams @ 8/13
  • 15:25 Kempton - Guy @ 9/2

14:15 Kempton - Lime Drop @ 7/1

What better way to signal the return of the jumps season than a cracking card at Kempton and the first bet of the day comes in the 2m2f handicap chase as Henry Daly's LIME DROP bids to win on her return from a 185-day absence.

The eight-year-old mare won five times over hurdles in the 2021/22 season, and although she is yet to taste success over larger obstacles, she has hit the crossbar on a few occasions.

Runner-up in four of her six starts over fences, she never seems to run a bad race and the ground might have been too quick for her when below her best at Cheltenham last time out, but it was also a very hot contest.

Lime Drop acts best with a little bit of ease in the ground so the forecast showers will do her chances no harm. Sam Twiston-Davies has a fantastic book of rides on the card and could be set for a great day.

14:50 Kempton - Seeyouinmydreams @ 8/13

Although Paul Nicholls hasn't got off to a lightning start this season, surprisingly he's still showing a strike-rate of 24 per cent and SEEYOUINMYDREAMS looks a very exciting prospect for the stable this coming season.

The Telescope mare was a wide-margin winner of a bumper on her debut at Newbury and has looked a transformed horse after wind surgery, winning both starts over 2m4f and 2m in devastating fashion.

Who knows how good this girl could go on to be this term, but she will likely try to belt off in front and make all again. She has had a short time off the track but still should be well up to landing this 2m5f novices' hurdle.

14:50 Kempton - Winner Seeyouinmydreams

15.25 Kempton - Guy @ 9/2

Nigel Twiston-Davies' GUY won three handicap chases last season at trips ranging from 2m to 2m2f, and he was likely in need of the run on his return at Kelso this month. He's expected to be right back to his best in this 2m2f handicap chase.

James Turner rode him last time and it looked like he wasn't fully fit at all, but he ran on well from the back of the pack. Sam Twiston-Davies takes over in the saddle and he was aboard for all of his five career victories so that is a promising sign.

Guy toughed out a gutsy win at Kelso in May but is only 2lb higher now so he should go well.
