Flat racing dominates in the UK and Ireland on Saturday, with seven meetings taking place across the afternoon and into the evening. Navan get the ball rolling before racing at Leicester, Haydock, Sandown, Ripon, Doncaster and Wolverhampton.

Among our Saturday racing tips is a horse for trainer Marco Botti who returns to the scene of his last victory.

14:45 Haydock - Rainbow Fire @ 8/1

A winner of this 7f handicap 12 months ago, RAINBOW FIRE hinted at a revival on his last couple of outings and the six-year-old son of Kodiac should be poised to strike again for trainer Marco Botti and Neil Callan.

Callan was in the saddle when the horse won this race last year and he is now back down to his last winning mark of 95.

The main concern is the ground. Rainbow Fire is yet to race in testing conditions but it is due to dry up a little at Haydock. That will aid his cause and this race has likely been the target for some time.

15:45 Leicester - Dear Daphne @ 12/1

Moving on to another Flat handicap in the form of the 6f sprint at Leicester, and George Scott's DEAR DAPHNE looks an intriguing runner.

A four-year-old daughter of Tamayuz, she ran poorly at Windsor earlier this month, but that was her first run in 311 days and she is entitled to come on leaps and bounds for it. Narrowly denied over course and distance in testing conditions in October 2022, she has proven track and ground form.

Dear Daphne rounded off last year with a good win at Thirsk, and although this is a tougher assignment from a 4lb higher mark, she could still be ahead of the assessor and is worth keeping onside.

17:00 Haydock - Due Consideration @ 10/1

DUE CONSIDERATION had a very consistent profile before he disappointed at Southwell in March, but Adrian Nicholls' runner is taken to get back on track and run a huge race in the closing mile handicap at Haydock.

It was an unusual effort from the gelding at Southwell, but one poor run can be forgiven. He is best judged on his prior form when racking up form figures that read 22122 between August and February.

He gained his only career success at Musselburgh over this trip in September off a mark of 57 and a return to turf might be just what the doctor ordered despite running off a 5lb higher mark now.

Nicholls had one winner from just four runners at this venue last year, and he's been among the winners this month which is another box ticked.
